Our next CVCon production harkens to ol' time turn-of-the-century New York City 🏙️.

'Newsies Jr' is based on a book by Harvey Fierstein, featuring a score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman (Tony Awards for all!) inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys at the time.

It's about raising prices, a charismatic character, and a unified rally against the unfair.

Starring your very own CVCon community and students, so be sure to see it when we debut in just ONE MONTH!

How do you recall 1982?

Some remember it as the year 'The Who' decided to start their farewell tour, or when Ozzy Osbourne bit the head off a bat on-stage 🤘.

It's also the year of worldwide famous singles like "Come on Eileen" and "Eye of the Tiger" releasing prior to becoming the household staples they are now.

For CVCon, it's the year we (at the time named St. Cecilia's Music Academy) had a purpose-built premises created to house our wonderful staff and students.

Bass players, upright and sideways are responsible for so much of what we love about music. 🎸

MJ, Vulfpeck, Thundercat, the late-great Jazz Cats, Beethoven's 5th and... well... everywhere, you can hear a bassist's mark.

Learning bass at CVCon is your surest way to the techniques and repertoire that get you to your own playing goals sooner. Whether that's a band, string section, or building an unshakeable foundation of skill in rhythm, groove, harmony and arrangement.

Unlike some of life's other hobbies where a career or passion might only be possible for a decade, a season or until your body parts wear out...

Most forms of music, and the skills they build with your ears, mind, Heart and Soul (😉) are practicable and enjoyable for an entire lifetime.

Famously on record for saying, “You can play music forever. It’s not like playing baseball.” Mick Jagger is one of many who chose music for such reasons.

One of which is that it's with you, always 🎤.
