Malo lava le soifua GC Aiga.
VASA was created over 4yrs ago to fill a need our Samoan aigas required especially our children. We grew from a few workshops with a handful of children and families to a sellout showcase that had 200 people including students, volunteers and support crew. This lifted our Samoan communities profile on the GC as well as internationally.
The goal was to fill a need, create a village for our kids to learn their culture through dance and music. We are happy to say that we have accomplished this. And have been honoured to have worked together with you all and serve you, our aigas on the GC. Thank you to everyone who has assisted, supported and prayed for VASA over the years, this was truly a massive collective effort, as is our Samoan way.
On that note, after long and hard deliberations we would like to advise that VASA will no longer be operating ... however there is still a need on the GC and we are glad that VASA was the launching pad for a new aoga siva that has just opened on the GC to service our aigas, Kings. No we are not affiliated, but we thank Fa'avae and the team for filling the need and wish them well in serving our GC Aigas especially our children.
Our hope is that others also use VASAs story as an inspiration to open many more programs as our culture is intricately woven and multilayered. There are many areas that still need to be covered. We just need courageous souls to come forward. How wonderful would it be for our kids to be flooded with choices.
Finally God has always had His hand on VASA everything we have achieved has His.mark on it. We will continue to glorify Him and pray He continues to bless our GC Samoan aiga. We hope that VASA inspires many more Pacific Island programs for our children to learn and grow in their ethnic cultures on the Gold Coast - Fa'afetai ma ia fa'amanuia le Atua ia te outou uma - VASA.
PS: we will miss seeing our kids the mostπ₯°π₯ΊπΌπΈβ€οΈ
