Did you feel the vibe in Little Malop Street yesterday? It was great. Thanks to all the bands taking part, the venue owners and the Geelong Jazz Club helpers and especially all those who turned up to hear the great jazz. Even the weather smiled on us. Terrific to have the Cloverdale Community Band in the street and the young Christian College Band in the Piano Bar. Jazz is alive and well in Geelong. Let's keep it that way.

Back Again!!! 2023 Jazz Day in Little Malop Street Geelong.

You will hear the magic of Dave Gardner and his Quartet on Saturday in The Piano Bar at 4pm.
David began playing the clarinet at an early age and was playing with local jazz bands at 16. Dave has performed and recorded with numerous well-known Australian musicians such as Don Burrows and James Morrison, and international artists such as Louis Bellison, Joe Williams, Buddy De Franco, Bob Mintzer, Wycliffe Gordon and some of the original members of the Glenn Miller Band. Also, David has performed on a number of occasions with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
On Saturday the quartet has Isaac Barter on Bass, John Shawcross piano and Sean Loughran on drums. Not to be missed.

An icon of the Geelong jazz scene, Des Camm has been leading New Orleans-style jazz bands since 1965. Now he’s bringing that legendary sound to Geelong Jazz Day!

Over at Beavs Bar, you’ll find Des on trumpet, Lindsay Flint on clarinet and saxophone, Robert Wood on drums, John Cox on banjo, Felix Blatt on piano and Steve Riley on bass.
The Des Camm Band have recorded nine albums, played jazz festivals around the country, and held residencies at popular jazz spots The Bridge in Richmond and the Elephant & Castle Hotel here in Geelong.

Hey-ho, daddio! Join the dynamic Papa Willie Jazz Band at this Geelong Jazz Day.

Come on down to witness Willie Purcell on banjo and vocals, Pat Miller on saxophone and clarinet, Cal Duffy on drums and the washboard, Zac Barter on bass and Rob Moffat on trumpet and trombone.
