Join us THIS Saturday morning to explore Deutsche Schule Melbourne's German-English bilingual education first-hand.

Deutsche Schule Melbourne (DSM) is a primary school offering Foundation to Year 6. We follow both the Victorian and German curricula and empower children with the advantages of a bilingual education. We are proud to be laying the foundation for international pathways and opportunities.🌎

To join DSM, students don’t need any prior German knowledge. Students who join in Years 2 to 5 without prior German language skills participate in our highly individualised New Arrivals Pathway to transition into the mainstream program.

Our Open Day offers:
▪️A leadership talk: presentation of the DSM school concept
▪️Foundation Year classroom activities
▪️Introduction to the New Arrivals Pathway
▪️School tours conducted by senior DSM students

There will also be freshly baked cake from our school's very own Chef Gerald as well as free coffee from Vagabond Coffee van. ☕️

With these photos from Friday night, we would like to thank everyone who attended our German Christmas Market! 🎄

The DSM community was driven by the idea to deliver a festive evening filled with joy, good food, entertainment and something special for both young and old - and we hope that we delivered on our promise. From our perspective the evening had a vibrant atmosphere, and we truly hope that everyone enjoyed it.

Putting such a big event together is a true community effort and we thank all students, parents, teachers, interns, staff and every volunteer who gave their time, energy and creativity - thank you.

For those of you who don't know much about us yet: We are a German-English bilingual primary school in Fitzroy North offering Foundation to Year 6. All children are welcome at our school - with or without connection to the German language. The DSM German Christmas Market is ON, rain, shine, or festive sparkle! We’ve got good spirits and Glühwein to keep you warm if the clouds roll in.

🎟️ Tickets will be available at the gate (unless sold out), so bring your friends and come join the fun!
🚋 Public transport is your friend, parking is extremely limited around the school, and trams 11 + 96 will get you close.
🐾 And as much as we love your furry friends, please leave your doggies at home, it’s a busy, crowded market and we don’t want any paws stepped on.

We're all about the sausage!

At Deutsche Schule Melbourne , we not only bake, but we also make our own sausages - or rather, we got to help 😊 a huge thank you to Oakwood Smallgoods Co. for the wonderful experience!

At the Christmas market, we'll be selling only the finest products, from traditional Bratwurst to Currywurst and meatloaf – we've got it all. Of course, there will also be a vegan option.

We're already looking forward to Friday! 😊

Tomorrow is the day! We can not wait to welcome you to our 2025 DSM German Christmas Market!

Our school community has been busy crafting one-of-a-kind gifts, like these beautiful native wreaths and ALL THE GINGERBREAD, cookies and other delicious produce. The bar fridges are stocked, the pretzels baked, the stall holders on their way to sell everything from hand-carved decorations to homemade jams, preserves, gingerbread, cards, candles and more.
