Fishy Stories Welcome to Fishy Stories — a festival celebrating the magic of stories and storytelling. Stay tuned for updates or contact us at [email protected]

The program is an opportunity for children near and far to meet the authors and illustrators behind their favourite storybooks, as well as for local children to feel the sense of pride and belonging which comes from celebrating the creative pursuits of their local community. The program will showcase local talent such as renowned children’s authors and illustrators Alison Lester, Janie Frith and Roland Harvey. Explore an expanded form of storytelling, tapping into creative storytelling through puppetry, oral traditions, illustration, circus, performance and interactive games.

Could you help write the next chapter of Fishy Stories?

Fishy Stories will be back in 2027 and are looking for new committee members to help shape the festival’s return.

We’re looking for people with fresh ideas, enthusiasm and a love of stories, creativity and community. You might be a writer, teacher, artist, event organiser, parent, business person — or simply someone who’d like to help create a great community event.

The good news is you won’t be starting from scratch. A strong foundation is already in place, with governance, financial management and administrative support provided through FABELO Incorporated, plus an established author network.

For everyone who loves Fishy Stories - now is the time to get involved!

Email us with your details and we will be in touch [email protected]
