Vale Darren "Shifty" Hale.

I always looked forward to seeing him each December and was as disappointed as everyone else once he stopped playing.

I'll always remember him, every year, scratching the top of his head; a signal to Jabba that he was about to bowl "The Spider".

For the record;

Highest score 80, 3 half centuries, 1 duck
21 wickets, 12 catches and a stumping.

Shifty always had a smile on his face, a smoke in his hand and time for a beer and a chat. He will be missed.

Swill 2020 has been cancelled.
