Cowgirls Gathering: A Unique Celebration

Join us for a truly unique Cowgirls Gathering that spans three unforgettable days, designed to honor and celebrate the essence of our life with horses. Established in 2020, Cowgirls Gathering was created as a space for horsewomen, cowgirls, and friends to come together. It’s more than just an event—it’s a heart-filled experience that celebrates life, horses, and friendships through learning, riding, shopping, dancing, and connection. Past Highlights

2021 Cowgirls Gathering: The tradition began at the scenic Kilkivan Showgrounds in Queensland, Australia, during the Queen’s Birthday long weekend. From Friday, October 1st, to Sunday, October 3rd, 2021, cowgirls came together for the first time to celebrate with heart, horses, and camaraderie.

2022 Cowgirls Gathering: Returning to Kilkivan Showgrounds, the event once again took place over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend, running from Friday, September 30th, to Sunday, October 2nd, 2022. It brought even more participants to embrace our cowgirl lifestyle.

2023 Cowgirls Gathering: Held again at the picturesque Kilkivan Showgrounds, the tradition continued during the Queen’s Birthday long weekend. The event ran from Friday, September 29th, to Sunday, October 1st, 2023, drawing participants from near and far for a vibrant and unforgettable celebration.

2024 Inaugural Mini Gathering: The first-ever Mini Gathering was introduced from September 30th to October 4th, 2024. This five-day event offered a more intimate experience while capturing the spirit of Cowgirls Gathering, with plenty of opportunities to learn, connect, and celebrate. The Cowgirls Gathering returns for another incredible celebration during the King’s Birthday long weekend. Join us from Friday, October 3rd, to Sunday, October 5th, 2025, for three action-packed days of western lifestyle fun. Additionally, the much-loved Cowgirls “Mini” Gathering is back for 2025! Join us from June 23rd to June 27th for this special five-day experience that promises all the heart and excitement of the main event on a more intimate scale. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this growing tradition that brings Cowgirls together from all walks of life. Stay tuned for updates, we can’t wait to welcome you!

We’ve been building a Cowgirls Gathering mobile web app ... and everyone attending the 2026 Mini Gathering gets to help us test it!

The idea is simple: put everything our Cowgirls need during the event in one place, on their phone.

We’re sending lots of love to the Cowgirls who can no longer join us, and hoping everyone keeps themselves safe and well over the next few weeks 🤎

Despite their many talents, horses remain absolutely hopeless at admin. If your horse still needs a yard for the week, please DM us to book before: ⏰ 6PM SUNDAY 30 AUGUST.

Whether you wake up fresh as a daisy or looking like you’ve been dragged backwards through the cattle yards, Jacinda from Mornin Glory Coffee has you covered 😂

She’ll be serving from 6:00am to 11:00am each day, with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, iced drinks and snacks available to purchase.

So your first decision of the morning can be: Bitter Wake-Up Call… or don’t talk to me yet.

And for anyone needing another fix mid-morning, there’ll even be “arena delivery” available. Because apparently leaving your lesson to chase coffee is frowned upon 😂

Bring your card or some cash and grab yourself a little cup of motivation before the day gets rolling 🤎

And remember, Cowgirls: please bring your own cold drinks and enough drinking water for the week. Fresh water will be available for refilling at the bar area only.

We see a little of what’s going on across socials and, for the most part, our feed is filled with amazing humans doing awesome things with their horses. Different disciplines, different goals, different levels ... and we love seeing it.

But then there’s ol’ mate… 😂

Ol’ mate has some thoughts about how everyone else should be doing horses.

Not everyone rides horses for the same reason you do ... and news flash, that’s okay 🤎

Some ride to compete, others to learn, and plenty of us ride simply because we love it. Chasing ribbons and buckles might be the dream for one, while another is happiest just enjoying time with their horse. One person might be finding horses for the first time at 50, while another has been riding since they could walk. For some, riding is part of every day; for others, getting an hour in the saddle is a win.

There’s no rulebook for what makes someone a “real horse person”. There’s only the version of one you’ve created in your own head.

Your discipline doesn’t make you more deserving of a seat at the table, your experience doesn’t make someone else’s journey less important, and what you choose to do with your horse doesn’t have to make sense to anyone but you.

At Cowgirls Gathering, we reckon the horse world is big enough for all of us. Different saddles, different disciplines, different goals and different stories, but the same love of horses.

So do horses your way and let others do horses theirs.

And ol’ mate, the next time you find yourself slipping into judging duties, just remind yourself of one tiny detail…

Nobody asked you. And when you start paying the bills, then you get a say 😂🌶️
