Cowgirls Gathering: A Unique Celebration

Join us for a truly unique Cowgirls Gathering that spans three unforgettable days, designed to honor and celebrate the essence of our life with horses. Established in 2020, Cowgirls Gathering was created as a space for horsewomen, cowgirls, and friends to come together. It’s more than just an event—it’s a heart-filled experience that celebrates life, hors

es, and friendships through learning, riding, shopping, dancing, and connection. Past Highlights

2021 Cowgirls Gathering: The tradition began at the scenic Kilkivan Showgrounds in Queensland, Australia, during the Queen’s Birthday long weekend. From Friday, October 1st, to Sunday, October 3rd, 2021, cowgirls came together for the first time to celebrate with heart, horses, and camaraderie.

2022 Cowgirls Gathering: Returning to Kilkivan Showgrounds, the event once again took place over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend, running from Friday, September 30th, to Sunday, October 2nd, 2022. It brought even more participants to embrace our cowgirl lifestyle.

2023 Cowgirls Gathering: Held again at the picturesque Kilkivan Showgrounds, the tradition continued during the Queen’s Birthday long weekend. The event ran from Friday, September 29th, to Sunday, October 1st, 2023, drawing participants from near and far for a vibrant and unforgettable celebration.

2024 Inaugural Mini Gathering: The first-ever Mini Gathering was introduced from September 30th to October 4th, 2024. This five-day event offered a more intimate experience while capturing the spirit of Cowgirls Gathering, with plenty of opportunities to learn, connect, and celebrate. The Cowgirls Gathering returns for another incredible celebration during the King’s Birthday long weekend. Join us from Friday, October 3rd, to Sunday, October 5th, 2025, for three action-packed days of western lifestyle fun. Additionally, the much-loved Cowgirls “Mini” Gathering is back for 2025! Join us from June 23rd to June 27th for this special five-day experience that promises all the heart and excitement of the main event on a more intimate scale. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this growing tradition that brings Cowgirls together from all walks of life. Stay tuned for updates, we can’t wait to welcome you!

Be honest, you already know exactly who you'd bring next time, and it is not the friend who "doesn't really do horses."

It's the one who turns up with snacks in her trailer, happy-cries at the Fireside, and somehow ends up best mates with a woman she met four hours ago and will now be texting for the rest of her life.

She's the one who says she's "just having an early night," then shows up at the campfire at 11pm in someone else's hat telling a story that makes no sense and ends with everyone wheezing, talking into an imaginary microphone just to keep the floor.

She loses her phone twice, finds three new horses she "needs," and books her spot for next year before she's even left the car park.

The short answer is no, and we get asked this more than almost anything, usually by the very women who would fit right in and don't know it yet.

Some of the people who have meant the most to this community arrived sure they weren't good enough, convinced everyone else would be more polished and further down the road than them. One of them told me afterwards that she nearly didn't get out of the car, and by the second day she was the one settling the nerves of someone newer than her.

Cowgirls Gathering was never built around how well you ride. It was built around who you become when you are surrounded by women who get it, the ones who understand the early starts, the challenges of balancing life, and the quiet pride of doing something hard alongside a horse you love.

The horses are the vehicle. The women are the story. You don't have to be a great rider, you just have to want to be here 💛

BREAKING:

Following last night’s Federal Budget announcement, thousands of Australian cowgirls are expected to redirect their tax savings straight into horses they absolutely do not need.

A new report released by the Cowgirls Gathering Research Division has already identified several emerging economic trends, including:
• one new saddle purchase per household
• a sharp rise in “just quickly ducking into the tack shop”
• increased fuel consumption due to floating
• and at least 47% of all tax relief being absorbed by clinics & entry fees

Key findings also revealed:
• 82% of cowgirls believe “horse related” counts as essential spending
• 91% report they were “only looking”
• and 100% remain unable to explain where the tax return went

Treasury officials remain concerned that no amount of financial literacy can compete with a woman saying:
“… but he was discounted.”

Happy Mother's Day to all the mums, grandmothers, bonus mums, horse mums and the women who spend their lives nurturing everyone around them 🫶

In the horse world especially, mums are often the quiet force behind it all.

It's in the early mornings and the long drives. The muddy boots at the door, the meals packed in eskies, the horses fed before themselves. The entries organised, the confidence rebuilt after a rough run, the constant encouragement from the sidelines.

So many of us are here because a woman somewhere believed in us first.

Today we celebrate the women holding families, businesses, horses, events and communities together, often without slowing down.

We hope today includes good horses, good people and at least one moment where someone takes care of you for a change 🤎

Truth, and I wish I was joking.

Back in our very first year, a bloke was going around warning women not to come. Apparently the Gathering wasn't a horse event at all, it was a secret cult, and once you went in you couldn't get out.

We've leaned into it ever since.If a cult looks like women backing themselves, learning, laughing, riding better, and building lifelong friendships, then six years in I reckon we're doing alright ✨
