Throwback to these scenes from Puerto Rico as the road to the Trail Run World Champs in Gozo made its way right through the trails of Cabo Rojo. Salt-sprayed trails, centuries-old harbours, and the raw beauty of Gozo. The 2026 XTERRA Trail Run World Championship brought athletes from 30 countries to the heart of the Mediterranean to contest the ultimate title on the island of adventure.

From the ancient Ġgantija temples to the limestone cliffs falling sharply into the blue sea, this was a journey through history and the start of the Mediterranean chapter of Trail Run Worlds, a story that began in 2008 and still has many, many miles to go.
