If you’re from Dubbo, chances are you’ve seen this iconic Monaro cruising the streets at some point over the last few decades.
Now, Bill Stevenson’s legendary HK Bathurst Monaro, GFORCE JU**IE, is heading to the Elite Hall Icons display at Dubbo MotorFest, where a whole new generation can appreciate one of Australia’s most historic street machines.
What makes this car so special? Bill bought it when he was just 18 years old. Imagine that for a first car today! Most of us were lucky to get something that started every morning, while Bill was driving around in what was already becoming one of the most famous blown Monaros in the country. 😂
Originally built by Steve Langham in the 1970s, GFORCE JU**IE is widely regarded as one of the earliest blown Monaros on the Australian street machine scene. With its big-block Chev, towering supercharger and unmistakable stars-and-stripes mural, it became an instant icon and featured in the pages of Street Machine magazine during the golden era of Australian street machining.
After purchasing the car, Bill held onto it for decades. It spent years tucked away before being brought back to life, preserving the history and character that made it famous in the first place. Even the imperfections tell a story, including paint damage reportedly caused by curious cows licking the car while it sat stored in a barn!
One question we’ll never get answered is: How many times did Bill get pulled over by the police driving this thing around Dubbo? 🤔🚔 We can only imagine the conversations at the side of the road when a blown big-block Monaro rumbled into view!
Be sure to check out GFORCE JU**IE in the Elite Hall Icons display at Dubbo Motorfest and celebrate a car that has become part of Dubbo’s motoring history.
