Today is the day! The Volvo Ocean Race leaves Melbourne and heads to Hong Kong 帆船嘉年華 on Leg 4! To all the fans out there, please see the map below on the race course to the exit of the heads.

For everyone coming out on the water for the leg start in Hobson’s Bay at 14.00hrs, the best and safest viewing is from outside of the marked shipping channel as the boats are constrained by depth to the channels.

There will also be great viewing from Mornington and the all the way out the South Channel to the Heads.

From everyone at Volvo Ocean Race Melbourne, HAPPY NEW YEAR!...✌🏾️ Today is the last day to get down to Harbour Esplanade in the Docklands to see the magnificent Volvo 65's before they begin their epic Leg 4 start to Hong Kong tomorrow...

If you are keen to wish these incredible sailors good luck on their next journey, get down to the Race Village by 9.30am tomorrow to see them dock out of Melbourne for the final time. See you there!... 😀
