In honour of International Women’s Day, we thought we’d celebrate something rather special…

At Darwin Bridge Club, all nine members of the committee are women.

Yes… apparently we run the club and the table. 😉

Meet the formidable lineup behind the scenes:

Keeper of minutes, wisdom, and occasionally patience.

Helping keep the admin wheels turning smoothly.

Kristina Hewer – Provedore 🍰
Ensuring no bridge player ever has to face a difficult contract on an empty stomach.

Last Monday we celebrated two very special birthdays at the club! 🎉🎂

A big Happy Birthday to Paul and Jaki, who were treated to cake, goodies, and plenty of cheerful bridge-table banter.

Between the bidding, the tricks, and the sugar rush, it was a lovely chance for everyone to pause, share a laugh, and celebrate two wonderful members of our Darwin Bridge Club family.

Thank you both for being such valued parts of the club — may your year ahead be filled with good cards, great partners, and just enough luck to finesse successfully when it really matters! ♠️♥️♦️♣️

What a fabulous afternoon of cards, concentration… and just a little bit of competitive sparkle ✨

🥇 1st Place – Sue & Ken Moffitt
Cool heads, sharp bidding and some seriously tidy card play! You two were in the zone. 🔥👏

🥈 2nd Place – Agnese Rinaldi & Toni Vine-Bromley
Elegant, steady and oh-so-consistent. Pushing hard all the way to the final board! 💪♠️

🥉 3rd Place – Lorna MacIntyre & Gill Brearley
Right in the mix and never far from the top. Another strong showing from this dynamic duo! 🌟♥️

It’s always a joy to see the mix of strategy, partnership trust and the occasional “how did that contract make?” moment 😄

🎉♠️ Monday Champs Crowned! ♥️🎉

What a cracking session at the club! Cards were flying, contracts were tested, and the competitive spirit was alive and well.

🥇 East/West Winners: Russell & Isabel

Brilliant teamwork, sharp bidding, and some seriously polished card play from both pairs. 👏 You made it look easy (we know it wasn’t!).

To everyone who came along — thank you for bringing the energy, the laughs, and the good sportsmanship that makes our Monday sessions such a pleasure.
