We were so excited to see our women's competition continue this year. A huge shoutout to all the women who played in our tournament. There's so much passion and character out there on the field.

It's not all rosy and it's never easy. You're thinking quickly, making decisions on the spot, and most of the time, just grabbing that ball and running for your life.

We can't wait to see these girls thrive at their local clubs and come back again next year.

By day three of the competition we were definitely feeling the heat and were not sure how our friends from down south were coping.

Those cool towels were coming out between breaks, the ice baths were pumping and you could feel the heat rising from the ground out there on the field but that didn’t stop our teams from raising the bar pushing all the way through to the finish line.

True to its name Friday of the Hottest 7’s in the World proved to show us exactly what’s we all love about the competition.

Top notch weather, elite junior rugby and a community who just loves their sport.

Returning to Skyring Rugby Park was something really special for our juniors. Bringing our teams back home to the heart of rugby union in the territory.

Congratulations to all of our junior teams, you got out there and gave it your all and it was a fantastic start to a weekend of rugby.

The Hottest 7s simply doesn’t happen without our incredible volunteers and staff.

Over Australia Day weekend — and in the many weeks leading up to the competition — so many people gave up their time, energy and heart to make this event what it is.

A huge thank you to:
Our NT Rugby Union staff
The crew from rugby.com.au
Our dedicated board members
Our special guests Eric Rush
Ali Snowden & Jo Cram - The legends who managed our ball kids all weekend
Our media dream team Danielle Andreoli & Tia Roko
Our referees who did an outstanding job facilitating every game
Robin Wong our food co-ordinator for an effortless bump in of our food vans & keeping things running all weekend
Donna Mitchell and Fi Austine for your time on the field snapping away 📸 without you we wouldn’t have so many memories to share from across the weekend.

…and the many more working behind the scenes who we may have missed but absolutely appreciate.

Events like this take an enormous amount of planning, organisation and teamwork — both on and off the field. We truly couldn’t do it without the passion and commitment of our staff and volunteers.

And of course, thank you to all of you who came along and supported the weekend. That’s what makes it the Hottest 7s in the World.
