🏮❗️News Break! Chung Wah Society Chinese New Year Festival and 80th Anniversary❗️🏮

We regret to inform that the Chung Wah Society will not be holding our annual Chinese New Year Festival at the Marrara Netball Stadium this year.

2026 is the 80th Anniversary of the Society and we have decided to combine the Festival with this special milestone and celebrate both in July at the Chung Wah Society’s Wood Street Community Hall and Temple grounds.

The 80th Anniversary Commemorative Event will include most activities and food from the Chinese New Year Festival and many more fun activities and performances associated with our Temple, Museum and Lion and Dragon dance troupes. It will continue to be a free entry event for all.

The Society will once again be making our famous Chung Wah Sartees and along with the food vendors from the Festival, the weekend promises to satisfy your taste buds. Visiting Lion dance troupes will add more colour and sounds to our Chung Wah Society Lion and Dragon Dance troupes to entertain throughout the weekend.

We understand the disappointment of not having the Festival during Chinese New Year and thank everyone for their enthusiastic support over the years and invite everyone to come along and celebrate and enjoy the 80th Anniversary Commemorative Event with us in July.

Territory Netball Stadium has loads of undercover and outdoor car spaces, please do not park on the road verges in the sporting complex, and be aware of the speed limits and pedestrians, when entering, parking, and leaving the Stadium.

🐉🦁🐲🐍The Darwin Chinese New Year Festival 2025🐍🐉🦁🍜 PROGRAM is action-packed with entertainment this year. Gates swing open at 11 a.m. with entertainment shows every 15 minutes. There are loads of fun activities for the whole family and over 12 delicious Asian food stalls on offer! Come on down this Saturday and get your Asian fix at this year's festival.
