And last, but not least, here are the final placings across all classes of the competition held at Mountain Mayhem 2026 - Multi Class Drone Racing Event.

Thanks again to everyone who took part it in helping bring this event together and making it into one of Australia's favourite drone racing events - the tireless volunteers who help transport, setup and ESPECIALLY packup the track and equipment. The manager crew at Thredbo Farm Ski Lodge for their hospitality and up keep of the nicely manicured golf course we flew on. The catering crew from Oshen Bermagui who kept us all fed with hearty delicious meals and of course all the pilots, competitors, pit crew and families who came along to hang out, support and just generally bring the atmosphere and vibes that make events like this super special and unlike any other.

A new King of the Mountain is crowned!

Congratulations to Gabriel "IQ0" Barrasso for winning this title by a mere 1 point. It was no easy feat, with your best 3 placings across all of the racing classes that we ran at Mountain Mayhem 2026 - Multi Class Drone Racing Event you needed to compete in as much as possible, and place very high in the rankings to earn the best score possible.

A perfect score to claim victory would be 3 (3x 1st placings). IQ0 was able to achieve a score of 4 to claim this trophy.

A drone racing event at Mountain Mayhem 2026 - Multi Class Drone Racing Event could not be complete without an epic Open Class track featuring a double elimination finals format.

This year saw nearly 80 rounds of qualifying recorded at RaceHQ with some pilots never leaving this specific track and some even camping in tents near by. This created the ultimate environment for getting your grind on for those attempting to claim the coveted TQ position on the leader board.

After a grueling Top 48, 6up double elimination format, we found our winners of the 5inch Open Class competition. Congratulations to:

3rd place - Davey FPV

The MultiGP Pro Spec was the most popular spec class by far at the Mountain Mayhem 2026 - Multi Class Drone Racing Event with an increase of over 100% from the 2025 event. The same format was used again, fastest single lap qualifying and a 4up 2 pilot bump up finals starting with the bottom of the leaderboard gave us an epic journey of elimination rounds to find our way to locking in another epic podium lineup. Presenting the Top 3 of Pro Spec class for 2026:

1st place - IQ0
2nd place - CGO (for the 2nd year in a row!)
3rd place - Fizz

The Micro Class was yet again another late night party zone for those competing at Mountain Mayhem 2026 - Multi Class Drone Racing Event. There were over 24 pilots who put down a qualifying time on the Friday with laps being recorded into the early hours of the morning. Again another nice tight flowing track in the rancho relaxo room of the Thredbo Farm Ski Lodge saw as many as 8up battling it out on the track right in front of faces of spectators.

The finals format was a classic CMRC format of Top 8, Next 8 with a best 2 of 3 placings from a 3 round finals heat that started at 10pm on the Saturday night and concluded just before 11pm. Congratulations to our podium placings:

1st place - Davey FPV (for the 2nd year in a row)
2nd place - IQ0
3rd place - timmytron

Huge thanks to Djay and Whodeany for providing the track obstacles and powering them throughout the weekend. Those RGB gates really set the mood.

Congratulations to your 3" Class winners of the Mountain Mayhem 2026 - Multi Class Drone Racing Event. The track was a step up from 2025 but still a very tight series of twists and turns. A brutal Top 32 single elimination format quickly dwindled down to a select list of pilots combining both speed and consistency to take the podium. Announcing the winners:

A big thank you to everyone who took part in the Prospec team race at Mountain Mayhem. I hope you all had a great time. Team racing brings a completely different dimension to flying, and it was great to see the coordination, strategy, and strong sportsmanship across all teams. The racing was close, the pit work was sharp, and every team contributed to making it a competitive and enjoyable event. I’m also very pleased to see the event conducted safely, with everyone flying responsibly and looking out for one another.

Congratulations to Team Cheese Dumpling (Mason Grunsell Daniel McCullock and Craig Tregear) for taking the win. It was a well-earned result after a consistently strong performance throughout the rounds.
A great effort as well from Team WBW (Youhanna Wahba, Lee Stevenson and Will Maloney) for securing 2nd place with solid and disciplined flying.

And congratulations to Team Ligma (Samuel Evans, Julius Pearce and John Gotovac) for finishing 3rd. The final battle was incredibly close, coming down to the last lap with only around 0.2 seconds separating you from Team Cheese Dumpling—one of the tightest finishes we’ve seen and a great showcase of how exciting team racing can be.

And last but certainly not least, thank you to Team StickTime Racing (Gabriel Barrasso, Benjamin Gregor and Joe Igoe-Taylor) for your participation and effort. Your involvement helped make the event complete, competitive, and enjoyable for everyone.

I would also like to sincerely thank everyone who volunteered their time to officiate, manage timing, and support the running of the race, as well as those who helped accommodate the team race within an already jam-packed event schedule. These events simply wouldn’t be possible without your willingness to step in and contribute behind the scenes.

I also appreciate the constructive discussions and feedback that were shared. Several great points were raised, and this input is essential as we continue refining the format to make it fairer, clearer, and more enjoyable for everyone. Please feel free to share any further thoughts.

Tickets for the wonderful Mountain Mayhem 2026 - Multi Class Drone Racing Event are now available for sale. Capped at a total of 48 pilots with on-site accommodation (and catering!) nestled right near the Ski Fields of Thredbo, this is an intimate event like no other in the world.
