Noosa Festival of Water Sharing info about Lake Macdonald and the Six Mile Creek sub-catchment, providing Noosa's town water supply Entry to the festival is free.

Come along to the 16th Noosa Festival of Water at the Noosa Botanic Gardens and Lake MacDonald Amphitheatre on Sunday the 13th of June from 10am until 3pm! Celebrating the diversity of life in and around our waterways, the festival will have information displays, wildlife and reptile displays and free kids activities including face painting, a jumping castle and kids’ creative art activities. Get

in the groove down at the Amphitheatre with local acts Zac Gunthorpe, Linc Phelps, Andrea Kirwin, The Famous Jimmies and Emily Maguire. Noosa & District Landcare will be giving out free trees to Noosa ratepayers with a current rate notice, and the Mary River Catchment Coordinating Committee (MRCCC) will be offering free dam, creek or bore water testing. There will be a selection of food vendors including the Tewantin Noosa Lions. The 2021 Noosa Festival of Water is sponsored by the Noosa Council, Seqwater, Burnett Mary Regional Group and the Mary River Catchment Coordinating Committee as well as an army of volunteers who contribute their services to the festival each year. Friday 1st August marks the start of the CLOSED SEASON FOR ALL FISHING in the Mary River and tributaries upstream (south) of Gympie from the junction of the Mary River and Six Mile Creek. The Closed Season is in place until the end of October to protect the endangered Mary River cod during its breeding season. Hefty fines are in place for anyone caught fishing or even in possession of a fishing line during the closed season.

We're very sorry to advise that the Festival of Water will unfortunately not be proceeding in 2022.

The recent natural disaster, as well as stakeholders considering it a good moment to re-evaluate the intent and direction of the festival, are the key reasons

Noosa Council and relevant environment groups appreciate all the support of the Botanic Gardens for the festival over many years, as it is such a beautiful setting.

Keep up the great work looking after our environment!
