The Crocodile Trophy 2023 has been cancelled.
We are now organizing The Croc Outback Cycling Tour on the same circuit.
For mountain bikers who don’t want to race just love to ride in the Outback and enjoy the adventures atmosphere.
Registration is open until the 20.September.

2023 will be the final edition of Crocodile Trophy
The 27th edition, from November 5th to 11th 2023, of the Crocodile Trophy in the outback of Australia will be the last. Organizer Gerhard Schönbacher announces: “In 1995 we organized the first edition from Darwin to Cairns and since then, we have expanded the event into the most adventurous and legendary mountain bike stage race. But at some point, there is a moment where you feel that you have to retire, and that moment arrived for me.”
After the restart of the event in 2022, when the Crocodile Trophy could be organized again after a two-year sabbatical due to the corona pandemic, the last edition is now waiting from Kuranda to Port Douglas this November.
"You have to do it – once in a lifetime" has been the slogan of the race since the early days and is it now to give all the possible participants a call, to register for the final edition. “There is a lot of melancholy, but also great anticipation to set off again to Australia with the riders and to experience this final adventure with them,” said Schönbacher.

She has one special offroad adventure in her sights before leaving the competitive cycling world. You may already guessed it… Van Vleuten will take part in the Crocodile Trophy in November!🐊 The mountain bike stage race in the northern-east of Australia. Here will await her and others 600 kilometers and 10.000 meters of climbing. A truly special adventure, as the Dutch rider already knows. In 2016 she already competed but left without the leaders' jersey… Will she be luckier this time around and take it home?
