✨ 2026 ABLE GOLDEN BOOK AWARDS JUDGE SPOTLIGHT ✨

We are honoured to introduce Carole Goodman as a judge for the 2026 ABLE Golden Book Awards.

Carole’s journey has been driven by what she describes as a “burning desire to understand the basic needs of man in everyday life”, from a welcoming door and a meal around the table to something as simple and powerful as a listening ear. That search for understanding led her to study Theology in her thirties and later graduate with a Degree in Social Science, majoring in Human Services (Corrections), in her fifties.

Her experience with women incarcerated at the Helena Jones Correctional Centre profoundly touched her life. She encountered women who did not recognise their own self-worth, did not realise they had a voice and often settled for less because they did not yet know what lay within them. Helping women discover who they really are, recognise their creative power and understand the influence they can have on the next generation has since become, in Carole’s own words, “my passion and my joy.”

Carole also shares an exceptional connection with the ABLE Golden Book Awards. Her book Where is My Mummy? was named 2025 ABLE Golden Book Awards Book of the Year. Now, she returns to ABLE as a 2026 judge, bringing her experience as an award-winning author and her deeply human perspective on purpose, self-discovery and the stories that emerge from within.

🏆 Our 2026 ABLE Golden Book Awards finalists will be announced soon!

When Nisma opens her family home to Hannah and her mother, a chain of events begins that tests the power of friendship, compassion and humanity.
