🏔️ BREDA’S EVEREST CHALLENGE
Every Step for Better Cancer Care 💗

Today we’re incredibly proud to launch a very special fundraiser for The Darling Fund.

This October, Breda — a much-loved member of our community who has been part of this fundraising journey since it began — will take on the adventure of a lifetime, trekking approximately 130 kilometres over 12 days to Everest Base Camp in Nepal, reaching an altitude of 5,364 metres.

And she has set herself a very fitting fundraising goal:

💗 $5,364 — one dollar for every metre of altitude at Everest Base Camp.

Breda will make the journey alongside six members of her family, but the reason behind this challenge is deeply personal.

On 6 May 2021, Breda lost her best friend and work colleague, Carolyn “Howie” Howard, following her battle with cancer.

Howie’s friendship and memory remain incredibly close to Breda’s heart, and this trek will be undertaken in her honour. 💛

We’re incredibly proud that the impact of Breda’s challenge will also carry Howie’s name forward.

Funds raised through Breda’s Everest Challenge will help establish an education grant in Carolyn “Howie” Howard’s name, supporting nurses to further their education and helping strengthen the care provided to people living with cancer and their families.

A challenge inspired by friendship. A grant created in memory. An impact that will continue well beyond the final step. 💗

This is exactly what The Darling Fund is about — our community finding meaningful ways to turn hope into action and action into impact.

After a little time to rest, regroup and take in just how incredible our 2026 Day of Hope was… we’re back. 💗

And what better way to reconnect than with this beautiful look back at a day that meant so much to so many.

Day of Hope was about more than one incredible event. It marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our community — Daffodil Darlings & Dudes became The Darling Fund — and now we get to start showing you what comes next.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing some very special news about where the funds raised by our amazing community will be making an impact this year — and how, together, we’re going to keep building on everything we’ve created.

There is so much more to come, and I can’t wait to share it with you. 💕

Happy Father’s Day 💙

Today we want to give a special shout-out to our wonderful Dudes — thank you for everything you do, often quietly and behind the scenes, to support our events, our fundraising and our community. We couldn’t do what we do without you.

To all the dads, grandads and father figures in our Day of Hope community, we hope today brings time with the people who mean the most.

And for those remembering a much-loved Dad today, we know days like this can hold both beautiful memories and a little sadness. May those memories bring a smile and remind you that the people we love remain part of our story, always. Whatever Father’s Day looks like for you today, we hope it’s filled with love, connection and a few special moments.

Tomorrow, we come together. 💗

After months of planning, organising, asking, creating — and dreaming — Day of Hope is finally here tomorrow.

For me, this day has always been about so much more than fundraising.

It’s about the people we remember.
The people we celebrate.
The people still fighting.
And the incredible community that continues to show up, year after year.

Tomorrow, a room full of people will come together with one shared purpose — to make a difference in the lives of people impacted by cancer.

Six years ago, I could never have imagined what this little community would become. And tonight, on the eve of our biggest day of the year, I’m feeling incredibly proud, grateful… and maybe just a little emotional. 💕

To everyone who has helped bring tomorrow to life — thank you.

Tomorrow is our Day of Hope.

Together for Hope. Together for Impact. 🌸

A little Sunday afternoon reflection…

The past two weekends have kicked off our 2026 fundraising efforts with an absolute bang! From 1,100 sausages at Bunnings to an afternoon filled with ABBA, laughter and generosity, our community has once again shown up in the most incredible way.

This weekend has been a chance to catch our breath before the countdown begins to our flagship event — Day of Hope, next Saturday.

But before we get there, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the team behind it all — our Darlings & our Dudes.

You show up. You give your time. You roll up your sleeves. You support every crazy idea I throw your way 😂 and you do it all with so much heart.

Please know how incredibly grateful I am for each and every one of you. 💕

And to our beautiful community — thank you. Thank you for buying the sausages, buying the tickets, sharing our posts, donating, attending our events and continuing to believe in what we are trying to achieve.

Our new words for this next chapter feel more fitting than ever:

An Afternoon with ABBA is almost here and we cannot wait to welcome everyone to The Officers Mess, New Farm for an afternoon of music, laughs, dancing and fundraising for a cause very close to our hearts. 💕
