After much deliberation and with much regret, my wife Robyne and I and the senior members of our extended family have decided to immediately withdraw our services from Jukebox Lismore Inc.

It follows then that Summerland Drags will cease to operate drag racing events.

Our reasons? We have two higher priorities - our very extended family of 31 people and 88.9 FM

Whilst we all enjoyed every event, the time taken to prepare for each event, the installation and removal of the necessary infrastructure, ongoing equipment maintenance and the very necessary red tape was all just too time-consuming. The drags were stealing time from our top two priorities.

Had we been able to develop a permanent drag-strip, whereby we just arrived, turned on the power, raced for five hours and then went home, we would have continued.

We are most grateful for the support each of you have afforded us over the past four years, particularly the volunteers from the Coraki Village Voice, the Casino SES, the Casino Mens' Shed and the Casino Lions.

Sunday the 28th & Harley

Several Harley owner/riders have asked for their own class at Summerland Drags. If 10 or more Harleys enter next Sunday’s event by 10:00 am, they’ll have their own class!

This will be our last event of the year with no possibility of postponement. And we have it on very good authority that rain on the day is highly unlikely.

Sunday August 24th RAINED OUT

The Bureau of meteorology has forecast heavy rain for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and all of next week. The SES has issued a warning for flash flooding and dangerous conditions. The Summerland Drags event set down for Sunday the 24th has therefore been cancelled..

Our next event will be held on Sunday the 28th. Paid competitor fees will be rolled over to September or immediately refunded on request.
