This two day mini-music festival hits Earp Distilling Co. June 6th and 7th. Built to help you embrace the long weekend with laid back funky vibes and music that will get you moving to the beat, Sound Social is your next chance to gather with friends and Newcastle’s local distillery, crack a cold can, and sing along to your favourites.

Forming in the early 2020s, Dust regularly rehearsed and recorded at Novotone in their early days. In fact, Novotone was the venue for their first ever show!

Today, this Newcastle post-punk five-top is known for their blend of radical guitars, experimental jazz, and electronic elements into a sound that's dark, introspective, and powerfully progressive. Their acclaimed debut EP et cetera, etc helped them launch beyond Newcastle, most recently headlining shows across the UK and Europe, playing Pitchfork Festival, supporting Interpol, and appearing at SXSW.

Formed in the steel city of Newcastle, The Cheaks have emerged as a refreshing presence in the local music scene, infusing classic indie rock sounds with a modern twist that hooks audiences in from the get go. They recorded their first singles at Novotone and have been regulars at Earp Distilling Co. gigs, building a reputation for high-energy sets. With support from Triple j’s unearthed and a growing catalogue, they’ve cemented their place in Newy’s music scene and our hearts.

Resident are a Newcastle alt rock outfit who play with a lot of passion blending post-hardcore intensity with melodic weight. Since emerging on triple j Unearthed, they’ve built a reputation for crushing guitars, explosive rhythms and raw, emotive vocals. Fresh off their debut 2025 album, Resident can be counted on as a force in the local heavy scene.
