Baroquefest’s third concert featured Andrew O’Connor (Bass Baritone) with Van Diemen’s Band. They presented a soulful and introspective program ‘Transformations’ with music from Hildegard von Bingen through to newly commissioned works by Brooke Shelley and Alice Chance. A truely memorable concert!

Gooloogong Log Cabin hall was the venue for our Lunch concert, with sumptuous food and w**e from
local producers paired with great music from Van Diemen’s Band, pushing the boundaries of baroque music!

A full house gets us underway at Baroquefest 2026! A wonderful concert by Van Diemen’s Band tonight, with four more great concerts to follow this weekend!

Okay, here's my final work post for the week – Van Diemen's Band are the ensemble in residence at this year's Canowindra Baroque Music Festival. There are five programs over the next three days: including 'Transformations' and 'Baroque à la Carte' where I'll be singing a bunch of Bach, Handel, and excerpts from Monteverdi's 'L'Orfeo'.

The festival runs 18-20 September, and if you wanted to make a last-minute trip to Regional NSW it's incredibly beautiful this time of year (warm days, clear skies, flowers blooming, cool nights) there are a very small handful of single tickets available for some concerts. Plus you can stop through Orange on the way to pick up something from your favourite local vintner – or the w**eries here in Canowindra!
