As National Volunteer Week 2026 comes to an end, the team at Burley Griffin parkrun wanted to say a huge thank you to all the amazing volunteers who share their time with us to make our event happen each week.

Since our first event back in June 2016, 1452 different volunteers have filled 6099 volunteer roles across 478 events — and every single one of them has helped make the parkrun magic happen.

This year’s National Volunteer Week theme is "Your Year to Volunteer” and it encourages people to discover how volunteering can create connection, purpose, fun, and lasting positive change — in ways that work for them.
