Update from Alyson: Hi everyone, you are all probably over me saying “it’s coming” “we’re working on it” “program will be with you soon”

And I KNOW it’s annoying. But unfortunately it’s real!

I can’t begin to explain the personal trauma that has plagued various individuals of our committee since June, and unfortunately it’s just keeps continuing with another serious situation occurring on Sunday that halted program release as I was personally working on it.

I am off line at the moment (again) from Brindy and just overseeing things and popping in and out as needed, but felt the need to let you know that your patience with us is very very appreciated.

This isn’t a case of us being useless, not caring or simply fobbing things off. It is however a case of unexpected and devastating shifting priorities.

This is a bunch of mums pulling together and constantly fillings gaps and helping each other out in serious times of need.

The program is custom created and takes ALOT of time to put together ontop of making sure we’re resting dancers and accomodating special requests where possible.

From what I can see we are currently on track for a release by Monday. However just like last weekend that can change in an instant.

Thank you all again for your kindness, understanding and compassion.

📣 Important Update to Our 2026 Rules 📣

Due to changes to our venue’s requirements, and to further strengthen our child safety and wellbeing processes, Brindabella Dance Festival has updated its rules relating to dressing rooms, access behind the stage doors and child safety.

The full updated rules, including Attachment A – Dressing Rooms and Attachment B – Child Safety and Wellbeing, can be found here: Brindabella Dance Festival Rules on our website and via the link below.

Please ensure all competitors, parents, carers, teachers and studio representatives read the updated rules before attending the Festival.

🔑 Key requirements include:

• Troupe Weekend: Parents, carers and spectators are not permitted in dressing rooms. Studios may nominate and register teachers or studio representatives to supervise and assist their dancers.

• Solo Week: Each soloist may have one registered studio representative, parent or carer assist them in the dressing room.

•All parents, carers, nominated teachers and studio representatives requiring access to dressing rooms, backstage areas or any other restricted areas must hold a current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration. Evidence of a valid registration must be provided at check-in before access is permitted.

• Dressing rooms are for changing, preparing and waiting for performances. Rehearsing routines, practising choreography and performing acrobatic tricks are not permitted in dressing rooms or hallways.

🚪 Behind the Stage Doors

• The area behind the stage doors is a restricted, competitor-only area. Parents and carers are not permitted in this area, and supervision will be provided by authorised Brindabella Dance Festival personnel.

💜 A LITTLE BRINDABELLA PROGRAM UPDATE 💜

We just wanted to pop on and say a genuine sorry for the delay in getting the 2026 Brindabella Dance Festival Program out to you all.

We know so many of you are patiently waiting for it so you can organise your week, work out schedules and start planning everything that comes along with festival time.

We completely understand how frustrating it can be not having those details yet, and we really are sorry for keeping you waiting.

There has been a LOT happening behind the scenes and, as a small volunteer committee, we’re doing our absolute best to make sure everything is right before we send it out.

There are so many little pieces that go into putting a festival like Brindabella together, and sometimes they take us a little longer than we hope! 💜

We are incredibly grateful for everyone’s patience, understanding and kindness while we get those final pieces into place. We certainly don’t take your patience for granted.

We promise we’re working hard on it and the program is coming very, very soon! 🙌✨

Thank you for bearing with us and for continuing to support our little festival. We’re so excited to welcome all of our dancers, teachers and families back for another wonderful Brindabella! 🩰💜

We are so excited to announce that the incredibly talented Kyra Dooley will be holding a Senior Lyrical Workshop as part of the Brindabella Dance Festival 2026! 🩰🔥

Kyra brings an incredible wealth of professional performance experience, and this is a fantastic opportunity for our senior dancers to learn, be challenged and dance alongside others in a fun workshop environment.

We are SO excited to finally announce the two incredible industry professionals joining us at Brindabella Dance Festival 2026…

💥 KIERON KULIK & KYRA DOOLEY 💥

And what an amazing duo we have joining us! 🙌🏼

💗 KYRA DOOLEY
Kyra began her training at Dance Force at just five years old, later completing her Certificate IV in Dance Performance. Her professional credits include The Voice, music videos for Guy Sebastian and Courtney Act, performances with The Dream Dance Company, and a dance role in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis. 🎬✨
Kyra has also worked extensively across TV, modelling and live performance and is now Head Booker at Mavrik, working with models and content creators.

✨ Kyra will kick off BDF 2026, adjudicating our troupe sections and continuing with us through until Monday afternoon, when Kieron will take over the adjudicating chair! 💃🏼💗

🌟 KIERON KULIK
Performer, teacher, adjudicator and agent, Kieron has had an incredible career in the entertainment industry.
Beginning professionally at just 16 in Hot Shoe Shuffle, his credits include Grease – The Arena Spectacular, Mamma Mia!, Shout! and five years touring the world as the featured male singer in Burn The Floor, performing across more than 100 cities! 🌏👏🏼
Kieron is passionate about developing the next generation of performers and is a faculty member at Dance Force, as well as the founder of Kulik Management, representing theatrical talent across Sydney and the Gold Coast.

🌟 From Monday afternoon, Kieron will take over from Kyra and see us through the remainder of BDF 2026! 🌟

We feel incredibly lucky to have two such experienced and passionate industry professionals joining us this year, and we cannot wait for our dancers to benefit from their knowledge, feedback and encouragement.
