Football is for EVERYONE!

"Then someone from the front row stood up and valiantly called out '7 to 6 on a penalty shoot-out! We won!' The packed Llewellyn Hall erupted in cheers and thunderous applause," writes TONY MAGEE, who was there to review the ACO.

The CommBank Matildas are doing us proud and will take on England this Wednesday night for a spot in the FIFA Women’s World Cup Final (you can watch the semi-final here on campus!).

The excitement is reaching a fever pitch, and hosting the World Cup has been transformative for the sport in Australia… but what comes after this?
This Friday, listen to UC experts talk about their sport research in under 5 minutes, from the comfort of your home. All topics will focus on women’s football and include:
đź’˛ Pay parity, collective bargaining agreements, and caring for athletes as people.
↔️ Using data and pattern recognition to detect playing strategies.
📊 Developing health, wellbeing and injury monitoring tools.
🏫 The power and possibility of university-backed elite women’s sports teams.
👩‍💼 The legacies of large sporting events and people power required to host these events.
âš˝ The research process behind the Play On - Exhibition.
