Hi everyone, unfortunately due to government department red tape and rising costs we are unable to obtain the required permits to open entries and proceed with organising the Cairns 2 Kuranda Train Race.. We wish to thank all of our devoted participants, supporters, volunteers and everyone who has helped us. This is a sad day, but the last 13 years have been a blast.
Since 2011 this race has attracted local, national and international entries on a shoestring budget. The train race has contributed $500 per year to who tirelessly work in vegetation rehabilitation in the local area and who have volunteered every year to ensure the runners stay on track to the finish line.
and the have consistently supported this event, supplying fantastic prizes for winners and random spot prize draws. In recent years , , , , also came on board to provide prizes and we are extremely grateful to all.
Wishing everyone great success with all your running endeavours, you're a tremendous bunch of people.
