Boogie Down South has always been something very special, and seeing this year’s ticket release met with so much excitement, generosity, and support has meant well...a lot!

In a world that can feel heavy, uncertain, and overwhelming, it means a great deal to see people choosing joy, connection, and dance 🌈 The response to this year’s event has left us moved and so dang grateful to be part of a community that continues to show up with such enthusiasm.

Thank you for believing in Boogie Down South and for making space in your lives for this event.

We can’t wait to gather with you in the South West this September for a spectacular weekend of dancing, friendship, and Lindy goodness.

🎟Releasing today will be:
- A few more Mega & Classic passes (Leads & Follows, all levels)
- More Duo Mega passes (all levels)
- A few Duo Classic passes (all levels)
- More Social passes

🕺🕺Due to Lead/Follow ratios, we're unable to release too many more follow passes at the moment, so if you know a lead, ask them to sign up with you for a Duo pass (or encourage them to jump in regardless if you’ve already got your ticket).

And remember, the waitlist is ready for you if you miss out. We review the waitlist straight after the release to see if there’s anyone we can get in (usually there are a few double bookings and other mishaps on ticket day). We will start actioning anything (where possible) after Wave 2.

Complete the waitlist form if:
- you missed out on your preferred pass entirely
- you have part of the pass you want, but not the whole thing
- you registered for one level or role, but would prefer another
- are possibly interested to coming to BDS but your pass sold out too quick to get one

The BDS Ticket Walkthrough video is back! 🙌 Do you like to know exactly what to expect? Cool, us too!

We know ticket day can be pretty stressful. There's a lot going on and no one wants to make a mistake and miss out on the pass they want.

This video walks through how to get a few common ticket types beginning to end on the event's ticket platform so you can know exactly what to expect, and exactly what info to prepare.

Because we’re maybe a tad nerdy (and we love a good number situation), we figured you might too… I mean, who doesn’t love a graph? 📊😎 For those wondering how many passes we'll have for the weekend, this post is for you.

BDS's special 10th Edition is held at Saltwater (the new Busselton Performing Arts Centre) means we've got extra space for this one-time celebration! That means lots more passes & pass types too - yep, there are FOUR types of full passes this year.

Of the 290 Full Passes available, the one we've got the most of are the Duo Passes (signing up together as a lead and a follow for the same level)

Duo Passes: 170 total
- 110 Mega Duo
- 60 Classic Duo
Single Full Passes:
- 70 Mega
- 50 Classic

On 11th April, Wave 1 will open up 75% of these passes. Why? We’ve made our best guess on what will be most popular—but holding back 25% gives us flexibility to adjust for Wave 2 according to what you grabbed.

So if, for example, if it turns out Classic Passes were more popular than Mega Passes, we will release more of these in Wave 2.

Another change this year based on feedback: you’ll now select your level + role upfront (instead of later). This means you'll be able to get your preferred pass more quickly and can also directly see what's left. The downside? Because passes are split across lots of categories, numbers might look low on the day - even though there are 225 full passes available in Wave 1.

There are more hot tips in this post too (e.g. be prepared, have your details ready to copy/paste, and most importantly… don’t panic).

We got you 👊 if you're currently straddling the fence between signing up for Injidup (Advanced) or Boranup (Top), no worries! There are probably lots of others in your shoes as it's the first time we've introduced a 3rd level.

During ticketing, if you're signing up for an Injidup pass, there will be an option to opt in to the audition ✅

While the finer details of the audition are still being sorted out, what we know is this: Auditions can be SUPER nerve-wracking. We're doing our absolute best to put in place a system that's as non-scary as possible, and recognises the range of qualities that dancers have (including "feel good" dancers, good learners, musicality, etc).

This is for you if you:
- are not sure whether you're suited for Boranup (Top) or Injidup (Advanced)
- have never done an audition but would be keen to just give it a go
- are nervous about the audition, and keen for a ticket that would allow you to change your mind and not audition

This year there are three class levels available, named with the traditional names of some favourite local spots: 🏖Gnarabup (intermediate), 🏄Injidup (advanced), and 🍃Boranup (top).

We have EXCITING info dropping next week to help you get your accommodation sorted 🏢🏡📆

In the meantime, the absolutely gorgeous Narelle Fouche has put together a photo documentary from photos and videos she grabbed at Boogie Down South. She was inspired by her daughter (Amelie Fouche) and her love of Lindy Hop.

The video perfectly captures all that we love about Lindy Hop with audio from interviews with Charlotte Zazou, Emily Clarke, and Chris Le.
