The Bundaberg & Fraser Coast Relay For Life is fast approaching, so weโre going to be posting the top frequently asked questions.
FAQ #4: Do I need to sign a waiver to skate?
Yes! ๐ผ
Roller skating is an inherently risky activity and, just like any standard skate rink, all skating is undertaken at your own risk. All skaters attending our Relay For Life skating sessions on 20 June will be required to accept our standard Rink Revolution waiver.
๐ผ To make things easier, we've set up an online ticketing process. There is no cost involved ($0.00), but it gives you the opportunity to read our waiver online and confirm that you have read and accepted the terms before the event.
โ๏ธ Saves time at check-in
โ๏ธ Helps us keep track of attendance numbers
โ๏ธ Gets you rolling sooner
Remember, we have a maximum capacity of 100 skaters per session, and delays at check-in may delay your entry.

๐ผ If you choose not to complete the online waiver, that's perfectly fine โ you'll simply need to read and physically sign the waiver when you check in on the day. This is the same process we normally follow at our events. Be aware, if we are up to capacity on the rink floor you will have to wait for entry.
๐ผ What if I'm already attending Relay For Life as part of a walking or running team?
Participants who are already registered as part of a walking or running team can continue to follow the standard check-in process and sign the physical waiver at the skating entry point.
๐ผ What about skaters under 16 years of age?
Rink Revolution requires a supervising adult to sign in any skater under 16 years of age. By signing the waiver, that responsible adult accepts the waiver terms on behalf of the young skater.
However, we understand that some schools and organised teams may prefer parents to accept this responsibility directly.
๐ We have an additional parental waiver available for under 16 participants. This form allows a parent or guardian to accept the waiver terms on behalf of their child, removing that responsibility from the supervising teacher, coach, or team leader.
If your school or team would like a copy of this waiver, please send us a message and we'll be happy to email it through.
๐ผ Please note:
๐จ Our waiver states that responsibility for:
โข Your physical ability to skate
โข Determining whether the venue is suitable for your skating ability
โข The skates you choose to wear
โข Any safety or protective equipment you choose to wear
โฆ REMAINS WITH THE INDIVIDUAL SKATER ๐จ
Rink Revolution is a not-for-profit organisation that operates pop-up indoor skating events. We are not a purpose-built skating rink, so it is important that all participants carefully read and understand the waiver before skating.
We look forward to seeing everyone rolling, walking and running together in support of an amazing cause! ๐
