Hey family, it has been a while!!, and a very testing couple of years for the arts and entertainment industries across the globe. We feel extremely lucky to have been able to share the 2020 festival with everyone before the apocalypse began.
Since our last gathering we have been busy spending our time at home gardening, studying, parenting and pretending to be retired!! After a while we began planning for Fractangular Gathering 2021, however Covid-19 restrictions at the time meant we were unable to proceed with our festival.
So we went back to more retirement, study, gardening and did some rigorous grant writing. We continued conversations and discussions about planning a festival for the summer of 2022 with the pandemic in mind, the climate crisis’s existential threat to civilization through the breaching of many planetary boundaries, oh and the crucial importance of sustainability in our lifetime and our children’s lifetime. Our conversations, discussions and planning for a festival took on refreshing, exciting and solutions focused directions.
This led us to a tough decision to close the chapter on Fractangular Gathering and say goodbye to what once was and forever will be a wonderful time in our lives. Farewell Fractangular, you were a blast, an event filled with magical experiences over many festivals, for those who attended and for those who worked at it.
We now welcome a new chapter..
With the support from the Australian Government through the RISE Fund and Festivals Australia we have put together an all star team to bring you a new vision, a new mission, and a new festival set to take place in the summer of 2022.
Our singular origins have become our singular future, where the choices we make and the communities we create are increasingly bound together.
One land, one sea, one people. Pangaea.
Come and join us on a new adventure over 3 nights and 2(.5) days camping in lutruwita (Tasmania) on February 11th-14th 2022. Let’s unite in celebration and knowledge sharing, through music, the arts and culture - towards a sustainable future for all.
We acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional and original owners, and continuing custodians of this land, the palawa people, on which Pangaea Festival is held.
