Onetouchables relegated with one game to go 😒

"We will come back fighting! Slowly and inaccurately, just like this season" said manager Chris Evans, whose side picked up 4 points in the first two games and then lost consistently for the remainder of the season. "The three points when King of the North didnt show up in round 9 really helped, unfortunately after that teams kept turning up" said Evans, who admitted there would be wholesale changes next season; "We've had two players leave already, plus Tom and my legs went about three seasons ago".

The search for a goalkeeper and goal getter remain high on the Onetouchables priority

Onetouchables escaped relegation with a hard fought 6-1 defeat to RTB last night. Social League mainstay Bernard Wojcik played his last game for the Thursday team before he moves away. The wirey target will also bid farewell to the Monday team this week as he takes part in his last finals for a while.

One highlight this season has been Luke Husseini's form, with manager Chris Evans describing the forward as the only player in the team who can strike a ball properly. Onetouchables have been described by many as the most static team in history with ageing defenders Tom and Chris Evans, along with Paul Gibbs finding space a record 3 times between them this season. Ben Crockford has also found the record books as a he wins the award for standing in front of his goal the least amount of times out of all the goalkeepers in Australia this season.

A season of transition will be soon forgotten if Chris Evans can snap up some of his transfer targets. Onwards and upwards.

Twotoucables end the season in 3rd place after last nights 4-2 victory over Brazillis. We'll be attempting to continue our reign as Monday night champions in next week's finals series facing off against Melbourne Athletico and their rowdy fan base. A big loss will be free scoring Mo Ibrahim, who is ineligible after forgetting to register! The team is looking strong aside from that.

Onetouchables face a battle for 6th spot this Thursday with their relegation battle going down to the wire.

Since our championship winning season on Monday nights we've gone a bit quiet on the post front. The main question of the season is who is better out of these 2? Thoughts will be much appreciated! πŸ‘for Chris 😑for Tom

Onetouchables 2 - 10 Out Dated
Evans. E, Husseini. L

A good week of Futsal ended in disappointing fashion as Onetouchables were outclassed by a talented team. Key players Wojcik. B, Evans. C and Evans. E all took part in Monday's epic finals series for Twotouchables and were clearly struggling with fatigue as a result. The latter had also played a full 32 minutes the night before. With key defender David Smeathers away on international duty a depleted Onetouchables had little hope.

An Out Dated side featuring Barry from The Four Lions smelt blood and took our boys apart with an impressive attacking display.

With several key players set to leave the Onetouchables next season, a board meeting has been scheduled to discuss the clubs future. Manager Chris Evans refused to comment on speculation that the team would be dropping down a league.

Forget Leicester, forget the Cavaliers, forget Western Bulldogs.. The Twotouchables have won their first Monday Social league championship with victory over back-to-back champions, Pass the Dutch.

Twotouchables 5-4 Pass the Dutch (AET)

One of the most entertaining grand finals in Futsal Oz history was settled by a golden goal by Brazilian import Daniel Aruajo. The defender, not known for his punctuality or ability to turn up for games, turned out to be the difference in a pulsating affair. An ageing and half fit squad featuring 33 year old Chris Evans, deemed 8th choice defender during the regular season, went into the game high on confidence after an impressive semi final against Brazillis. After winning that game 6-0 it took our boys until the second half of the grand final to concede a goal. A fired up Alex Husseini got our boys off to a flyer and if it wasn't for some questionable refereeing decisions, the score could have been more than 2-0 going into half time.

The second half was a different story,as in true PTD fashion, the social league giants fought back all guns blazing. 2 quick fire goals made the scores level and a free-kick that never should have been awarded put the Oranges ahead.

With nothing left in the tank Twotouchables found some energy from somewhere. Araujo bundled in the equaliser and Ed Evans scored what looked likely to be the winner with 2 minutes remaining. Pass the Dutch had the last say in normal time with 1 minute to go after a well taken goal.

Extra time:
With golden goal looming, Twotouchables were dead on their feet. Chris Evans and Alex Husseini were fighting for a place on the bench with the latter winning due to not being able to walk. Evans wasn't much better as he hobbled around in a desperate attempt to make himself useful. It should be mentioned that the veteran's positional sense was at his very best. The defender beating the record for least touches in a finals series with 3.

Pass the Dutch were on the front foot and some last minute blocks kept our boys in it. Then the ball broke to Araujo who seemed to take an age to move up the pitch on the counter attack. One of the slowest one-two's of all time landed at the feet of the Brazilian who someone got enough of a touch to send the ball home and our boys in to raptures.

It's been a long wait for the championship and what a way to get it!

Unsung hero Chris Evans made his 500th Onetouchables appearance against the Hammers tonight. Chris' career will be celebrated for colossal performances against Ledgends and Fubar in our first premiership winning season of 2014. A tactical mastermind who's positioning and experience will be remembered over his technical ability, or lack there of. His commitment to the club over the years will always be remembered as he surpasses the record set my Nick Ottery, who sits on 499 games. As he enters the latter stages of his career, one can only wonder where the veteran could have been if he'd practised keepy ups at the age of 8 instead of 28. Keep up the good work 'Evo'! You've got at least 3 Thursday social league seasons left in you.
