The Royal Queensland Awards (formally known as the Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show) unearths Australia’s premier food, wine and beer products including ice cream, cheese, beef, lamb, beer and wine. Rigorous judging takes place before the best of the best are crowned throughout May, June and July. Throughout the 9 days of Ekka in August, champion products will be showcased at the Royal Queensland Awards Cooking Stage, Ekka Tastes outlets and will be served at the Royal Queensland Steakhouse, giving everyone the opportunity to taste the incredible award-winning produce.

🧀 Celebrating the next generation of cheesemakers!

RQA judge Russell Smith and fellow cheese expert Mark Livermore judged the Ekka's Student Made Cheese Competition presented by the Queensland Agriculture this week, recognising the skill, creativity and passion of students stepping into the world of cheesemaking.

Competitions like this are a great opportunity for students to put their skills to the test, learn from experienced industry professionals and showcase the future of Australia’s dairy industry.

We can’t wait to see where this next generation of cheesemakers take their craft! 👏🧀

Celebrating two outstanding trophy winners from the 2026 Royal Queensland Wine Awards! 🍷✨

Stella Bella Wines has taken home an incredible three trophies with its Stella Bella Cabernet Sauvignon 2024:
🏆 Angelo Puglisi Grand Champion Wine Trophy
🏆 Stodart Trophy for Best Red Wine
🏆 Alan Cook MBE Trophy for Best Cabernet Sauvignon

Forester Estate also celebrated success, with its Yelverton Reserve Chardonnay 2025 awarded the Best White Wine Trophy & the Fleming Trophy for Best Chardonnay.
