On Thursday, 16 October, celebrated their annual Trade Awards, recognising outstanding talent across the state.

We’re incredibly proud of two of Kirwan High’s Salon Assistant Hairdressing/Barbering students who were honoured for their dedication and excellence in the industry.

Paytn completed her Salon Assistant certification last year and was awarded as Tafe Queensland's School-Based Apprentice of the Year for her work with the Ebony Empire.

We would also like to recognise our alumni, Colby. Colby was a member of our very first Salon Assistant class in 2022 and has continued his journey as a Barbering apprentice at ColourIT after graduation. Colby was named among the Top 4 finalists for the Indigenous Tradesperson of the Year.
