Lock the dates in for February 2027, Oscars100 Hut 2 Hut is calling

For years, you've called it a race.

We never did.

We called it an event, a weekend away with friends and community that can change your life.

In 2027, we're giving it a new name. Something it deserves. Something to celebrate.

Welcome to the HUT 2 HUT TRAIL FESTIVAL.

Race directors please note AUTRA have updated the criteria for the Trail and Mountain National Championships, with a Vertical race added into the main event with Long Course, Short Course and the Classic race. The 100 mile event is now seperate as a stand alone event. See below:

Applications for National Championships are now open and will close on Sunday 21 June 2026. The successful events will be announced week commencing Monday 29 June 2026.

The events that are open for applications are:

- 50km Road
- 100km Road
- 24 Hour Track
- 48 Hour Track
- 6 Day Ultra
Trail Running
- Short Course Trail (30-60km)
- Long Course Trail (60-100km)
- Mountain Running (uphill/downhill)
- Vertical
- 100mile Trail

Whilst the original criteria of the main event of the 4 trail race all being held as part of the one event long weekend is not noted, our understanding is that AUTRA and AA still favour that format to replicate the World Mountain and Trail Running Championship event program for the runners.

RD’s once again any questions please reach out to AUTRA. Looking forward to an early announcement of the National Championships in 2027 so athletes can lock in their plans early and hopefully see the best of the best competing at the National Championships next year.

A further PSA from AUTRA.

This one is for all race directors for trail, mountain and ultra running who are interested in hosting the 2027 National Championships.

Check out the article on the AUTRA website. Note for the trail and mountain championships it will all be at one event, we assume if an event hosts all the distances noted (here at TRA we suggest trail RD’s reach out to AUTRA to confirm the distances before finalising your EOI)

Not long till most of the trail running world stops and loses the weekend of 27-28 June to dot watching runners in the 2026 Western States Endurance Run.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on what will happen in the Women’s race this year with our very own Holly Ranson on the startline.

Here is a preview from iRunFar.com on their thoughts of what might happen with so many of last years Top 10 returning and a plethora of other big names also toeing the startline, some being first time milers. Who’s your pick for the win?

The last running over the weekend of Run Queensland’s Yandina 5-O saw a heap of course records in wet muddy conditions.

Highlights being the dominant wins by Billy Curtis and Melissa Hauschildt.

A shame to see this great event finish, but great to see the runners and Run Qld sending it off on a grand note on Saturday

In true Milepost Events fashion, the Females are leading the charge at Boyne Valley 50 2026 💪🔥

We're proud to see such strong female representation, especially in a sport where participation is often male-dominated. It's fantastic to watch our community continue to challenge the norm. We aim to create events that are welcoming, inclusive, and supported by an incredible group of runners.

Boyne Valley 50 2026 is shaping up to be something special! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
