Check out this beautiful stained glass Tillandsia holder that was made by Sad Glass Shop and purchased by Never Forever at today’s market. What treasures did you find today?

Thank you to Sad Glass Shop and all our stallholders, to the many people who attended, to our amazing music makers monaverdour, and to the people standing behind the counter and cheering you on. I’m a big believer in people with monosyllabic names, so it was a good day to be working with Ten, Shell and Em. Also, faster.

Our next market is the big one: it’s Christmas at Tennyson HQ on Sunday 13 December. Spots for this market are filling up fast, so get your stallholder application in quick through our website (link in bio) if you want Santa to visit.

Shockingly, you’ll also find plants at the Plant Empire Market. Herewith, we find a bowl of artfully positioned Tillandsia caput-medusae for your viewing pleasure. What would be the collective term for such a plant, I wonder… perhaps fallen women? Women of ill repute, let us gather this Sunday at:

I wouldn’t normally repost something from 2024, but poor Bernie from Watercress Creek Olives & Limes isn’t very savvy with social media and I feel he’s been disadvantaged because of it. It’s about time Bernie got the spotlight, and this video really says everything you need to know about Watercress Creek Olives and Limes… Bernie grows them on his farm at Pine Mountain, packages them up into delicious products (his marinated olives are 👌), and is bringing them to us this Sunday at:

Repost from South Place

In South East Queensland, a vibrant community of local makers and producers thrives. We had the pleasure of meeting Bernie from Watercress Creek Olives & Limes, who showed us around the farm. Don’t forget to save the date for the annual Watercress Creek Olive Festival on April 14th! It’s your chance to experience the farm and its artisanal products firsthand.

Some days she’s Juliet van Oirschot. Some days she’s Juliet van Oirschot, and other days an award-winning ceramic artist. I can never quite put my finger on exactly why I love her work so much, but I do - and that just makes me love it more. Unlock the mystery of Juliet and her art this Sunday at:

This is not a photo, but a watercolour painting by the very talented Ingrid Bartkowiak Ingrid Bartkowiak.

Ingrid has been busy lately. Last month, she won a Children’s Book Council of Australia award with Stephanie Owen Reader from their book “Peculiar Parents”. Next month, she has a “Coastal” art exhibition at Art Studio || Eliza Rose || Brisbane, Australia from 2-11 October, where you will find these Angelfish available for sale. Ingrid is also running a new Watercolour Lorikeets workshop and her very popular Watercolour Flowers workshop at Plant Empire on 31 October. But this Sunday, you’ll find her with her beautiful artwork at the Plant Empire Spring Market.

Visit this Sunday to wipe Ingrid’s brow at:

A very special birthday party for a very special person tonight! She doesn’t want me to name her or the location as she’s worried that a bunch of teenagers might gatecrash the party, but can you guess who and where?

In case you were in any need of inspiration to join Jane du Rand’s Masterclass… get an eyeful of these babies made by Jane. Which direction from these photos do you think the Masterclass mural that will be installed at Tennyson HQ should take?

Learn how to make a large-scale ceramic mosaic installation with a group of like-minded people at Plant Empire from 23-30 October. Register online at plantempire.com.au (link in bio).
Repost from Jane du Rand

I’m going to be presenting a “masterclass lecture” as part of the October MAANZ Symposium (mosaic association of Australia and New Zealand) I’ll be describing and explaining the processes involved in making and installing large Architectural installations. You do not need to be attending the MAANZ Symposium to come to my presentation, it’s on a Saturday morning... could count as professional development for Architects, to book there is a link in my bio.
