First team in to TA-A were Russ and Ali from team Sunny Coasters. They elected to only collect 1 of the first 6 check points figuring there are better value check points later on the course to focus on - let's see if getting ahead of the course plays out as a good strategy. It should be noted that Russ has won multiple Rogue Raids in the past including the race in this location back in 2014, so they should know a thing or two about optimising strategy.

Teams Wildflow Tigers and Alpine Avengers came in together as the first teams to collect all check points, so it's looking to pan out to be a competitive race.

In less than 24 hours, teams will be towing the start line of the 17th edition of the Rogue Raid. Awaiting them are 67 check points spread across a 24 hour course featuring lake paddling, trekking, a gorge swim, caves and over 100km of mountain biking. Hot favourites are team Alpine Avengers who are returning to reclaim thier title. After a couple of weekends of course setting, the first 32 of 69 check points for he Rogue Raid have been hung. It was an excellent reminder of why this is our favourite Rogue Raid race location to date. Teams are in for a real treat in terms of terrain and navigational challenge. We're excited to anounce that the Rogue Raid 24 hour race will make a return to the Lake Cressbrook region for just the second time in its 17 year history. This is one of our favourite locations in south east Queensland that we've hosted an event and we have a cracking course with almost 70 check points planned. A big thank you to a small crew from Tiger Adventure who went out last weekend to sweep the Escape Raid course. Amazingly, they were able to recover the majority of controls, although many won't be up for use again in the future!

The Escape Raid will be back bigger and better next year and we have some exciting changes on the horizon. What do you do when racing is off the table for a while? Over the weekend we took on an adventure challenge with a bit of a twist: following a single watercourse from the highest point of Mt Coot-tha all the way out to the ocean. In the hectic wrap up from the Escape Raid, we didn't get a chance to share this fantastic sketch from Lisa O. highlighting the adventure she had in the abreviated version of the race. It definitely sums up the fact that you never know what to expect when you turn up to the start line of an adventure race.
