How good was that. River Heads Blues (Women in Blues) Vix and the Slick Chix closed it out, with a cracking set, Olivia Ruth (full band) was sensational as usual, LiNi to good, The Jacqui Walker Band was fun, The Rhubarb Tarts was the surprise package for me wow, Sugar Game was awesome, Bully got everyone up & moving, The Turnaround were great & Red & the MZ four kicked the whole thing off with lots laughs & talent.

Thank you Suzanne & Paul, BRILLANT wkend of entertainment as usual.

Best self-produced Blues CD 2027

The BASEQ is looking for a Blues act with a Blues CD album released between November 1st 2025 and October 1st 2026 to be submitted as the BASEQs nomination for the International Blues Federations Best self-produced Blues CD 2027

In 2005, The Blues Foundation established an award for the Best Self-Produced CD, given out at the International Blues Challenge. This award was created to recognize excellence in independent Blues recordings

Entries for the Best Self-Produced CD are permitted by Blues Foundation Affiliated Organizations only.
Each Affiliate is permitted one entry.
The CD entered may be recorded and performed by an act other than is entered in the current year’s International Blues Challenge.
Only CDs released between November 1, 2025 and October 31, 2026 are eligible for consideration as the 2027 Best Self-Produced CD.

Judges will evaluate each submitted CD on the following characteristics. The criteria considered are listed in order of importance.

(1) Blues Content
(2) Musical Performance
(3) Audio Quality and Production Value of the Recording
(4) Professionalism and Visual Appearance of Cover Art and Design
(5) Credits and Liner Note Information.

Entries for the BASEQ nomination close 27th September
THE BASEQ COMMITTEE WILL BE FINAL ARBITER OF ALL DECISIONS.
