😆 It’s not quite ‘The Epic Split’ featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme – the viral commercial released in 2013 by Volvo Trucks to demonstrate the stability of its FM trucks using dynamic steering.

🏆 But it was epic enough for Mader Group to win the best selfie award judged by NTI’s Craig Carmody at TruckShowX 2026’s golf day held on Sunday, May 17 at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley.

🏌‍♂️ More than 50 eager attendees joined us ahead of the two-day conference for nine holes of fun and frivolity – as well as some serious golf (and networking).

👏 The gun team comprising VE Motion’s Dean Panos and James Morgan, TreviPay’s Piers Gorman and HVIA’s very own Harrison Hunkin were named the overall winning team; while Mark Lampard and Brad Yarwood from GoEV, Air Brake Systems Pty Ltd’s Glenn Hambleton and BetterFleet’s Russ Yell were judged the most enthusiastic.

⛳ Individual prizes were also awarded for closest to the pin (Jost’s Joey Coles) and loudest shirt (BetterFleet’s Russ Yell).

📸 From the comfort of his mototorised buggy, snapper Alastair Brook captured the shenanigans.

📢 The Australian Government has confirmed a landmark investment in frontline mental health support for Australia’s transport, warehousing and logistics workforce.

🗣️ The announcement was made outside Parliament House in Canberra by Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, Catherine King, during a Truck Week 2026 activation hosted by Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds and attended by industry representatives gathered around the Healthy Heads activation vehicle, “Kenny”.

🚛 The Federal Budget investment will help dramatically expand mental health and well-being support across the sector, with a strong focus on practical, on-the-ground engagement reaching workers where they are – in depots, workplaces, truck stops and regional communities.

💡 “This investment will help expand practical, on-the-ground mental health support, ensuring workers across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia can access the resources they need,” King says.

👏 Healthy Heads Chair Paul Graham describes the funding as a major turning point for a workforce that has too often been overlooked. “This is a sector of more than 745,000 Australians that has ranked last for workplace mental health for years. This investment acknowledges that reality and does something about it,” he says.

The funding package will support two major national initiatives:

👉 A major expansion of the Healthy Heads Road Show, growing from around 40 events annually to more than 100 events each year, reaching over 10,000 workers nationally.

👉 A dedicated research project focused on su***de prevention among Australian truck drivers and the development of evidence-based prevention strategies.

💰 Importantly, the Australian Government investment has been matched through a co-investment commitment from the Goodman Foundation, creating a combined $5 million national initiative to strengthen frontline support and su***de prevention efforts across the sector.

🚛 is now in full swing, and the positivity being shared across Australia has been incredible to see. Across the country, social media feeds have been filled with photos, videos and messages from depots, workshops, warehouses, factories, truck stops, schools and offices, all highlighting the people who keep Australia moving 👍

🛠️From toolbox talks and charity BBQs to open days, safety demonstrations, morning teas and health initiatives, Truck Week has become a national showcase of pride, professionalism and connection.

🎊 Social media has been filled with great stories, proud teams and creative local activities – all highlighting the community spirit that exists right across the heavy vehicle sector.

👏 Even our pollies – and the Governor-General of Australia Sam Mostyn – have got on board the celebrations.

🎉 As Truck Week 2026 reaches the halfway mark, one thing has become unmistakably clear – the Australian heavy vehicle industry has embraced the opportunity to celebrate its people, workplaces and communities.

🗣️HVIA Chief Executive Todd Hacking says the response so far has exceeded expectations.

👉 “Truck Week was always intended to be a celebration of people first and foremost, and that’s exactly what we’re seeing right across Australia,” he says.

👉 “The enthusiasm on social media has been fantastic because it’s coming directly from the industry itself – real workplaces, real people and real stories.”
