BQFF’s 21st outing
In 21 years we’ve come so far as many communities holding space for ourselves. It’s wonderful to see the rest of society catching up - with more mainstream ways for us to see ourselves represented. With still so much more to be done, we are humble and value the 21 years of holding space that Brisbane Q***r Film Festival has offered to the Brisbane q***r community and hope you continue to see value in our visibility. We are here for the tender moments of reflection and representation.
BQFF returns in 2020 to present, indulge and empower LGBTIQA+ and gender diverse film, filmmakers and screen content from 5 - 15 March at New Farm Cinemas.
The 21st edition is a collection of bold, defiant and refreshingly authentic q***r storytelling by and for the q***r community. The program embraces the gamut of q***r cinema, spanning LGBTIQA+, gender diverse and intersectional films, with special selections for the niche and allies of Brisbane’s q***r community.
BQFF is a highlight of the Brisbane q***r community calendar, since its first outing in the year 2000 at Brisbane Powerhouse. Becoming independent in 2017, the festival is a highlight of the Brisbane q***r community calendar, spotlighting dynamic stories that go beyond the binary.
