We did plenty of preparation training before we embarked on our bridleless (barehead) trek. This was Spook's first time barehead in a moderate sized town, about six months prior to the trek. He and Robbi did amazingly well!

After a number of bridleless rides in the bush and into the small town of Nannup, we were confident to ride our horses into the larger and busier town of Don...

The looong view. I really want to call this "Every Step Matters". What do you think? Does anyone else name their photos?

Long long roads and comfortable silence. Just letting the horses do their thing and thanking our lucky stars that we get this opportunity. When we did talk, much of the conversation at this point was "Wow, look at those colours!" as we soaked up the ambience nearly unattainable when traveling by car.

The Last Day. Bittersweet was the flavour of the day as Jasper continued his chippier than a cricket walk leading Sensational Spook as I followed on Fibonacci the Fantastic. This beautiful road was park of the Warren Blackwood Stock Route. Every gorgeous step of the way bringing us closer to the end of our adventure.

Now that we've completed our trek, we'd love you to donate to our charities.

Robin's charity is Beyond Blue, and she hopes that as well as fundraising for this worthy organisation, her participation in the trek will inspire others with depression to 'Act, Belong, Commit' to a group goal. To donate to Beyond Blue, go to http://bit.ly/BtbBeyondBlueDonation. Thank you!

Robbi's charity is BARRC, Bunbury Animal Rescue Rehome Care Inc. BARRC focus on educating and engaging with the community to understand responsible pet ownership and how to embed it in their homes. They seek to have a positive impact to reduce animal homelessness whilst rescuing and rehoming those animals impacted in the meantime. To donate to BARRC, go to http://bit.ly/BtbBARRCDonation

We've created this page because we want to make a difference, and inspire those with mental health challenges. We love the work that Beyond Blue does and want to support them. Every donation helps and makes a significant impact to mental health in Australia, so thank you for your generosity. Click t...

Apologies if I've posted twice ... I may have gotten a wee bit overwhelmed with the volume of flower shots I've taken. I HIGHLY recommend wildflower walking on horseback, such a different perspective to enjoy the natural world from. 😁

One of the aims of our trek was to raise awareness for Beyond Blue and the 'Act, Belong, Commit' message.

It seems appropriate to share the story of my journey through depression. I was diagnosed in 2005 and am still on anti-depressant medication. I have had my share of ups and downs, but the training and teamwork involved in both Reinless to Rawlinna and Bridleless to Bridgetown is definitely one of the highest "ups". Thank you Gill, Suzie and Robbi for being such terrific and supportive teammates!

These photos are converted from a pdf document I submitted as part of a book titled "A Walk Through My Eyes", published in 2007 by the Goldfields Mental Health Action Group.

Feel free to share my story with your friends in order to heighten awareness of depression and how people can be unaware (as I was) of what the illness is all about and what its symptoms are. I encourage anyone who shows these symptoms for more than 2 weeks to visit their GP and at least find out if it's the "Black Dog" at work.

The last time I shared it, 5 years ago, it resulted in an old friend of mine seeking the help he needed, so I know that sharing it has changed lives.💜
