For every kind of mother, and every heart that has loved like one 💛
Mother’s Day is not only for one kind of woman,
one kind of family,
or one kind of story.
Today is for the mothers who carried life,
and the mothers who carried love.
For the stepmothers
who chose children that were not born from their bodies,
but became stitched into their hearts.
For the foster mothers
who opened their homes
when the world felt uncertain to a child.
For the fathers
who have stood as both mum and dad,
learning tenderness and strength
all at once.
For the single mothers
who have carried entire worlds on tired shoulders,
who kept going through sleepless nights,
empty tanks, broken hearts, and impossible days.
You are seen.
For the mothers who have lost children,
whose hearts still whisper names into the quiet,
whose love did not end when life did.
A mother forever,
even in grief.
For the children who have lost their mothers,
who ache for one more hug,
one more phone call,
one more ordinary moment.
May you feel them beside you today.
For the women longing to become mothers,
holding hope softly in their hands,
waiting, praying, yearning.
Your love already exists,
even before tiny footsteps arrive.
For our grandmothers and great-grandmothers,
the women whose hands built generations,
whose recipes, wisdom, laughter and resilience
still live inside us.
For the mothers of fur babies, feathered friends,
and every soul lovingly cared for —
the ones who nurture, protect, comfort and adore.
Love is love, and it matters.
Today we honour every version of motherhood.
The messy, beautiful, exhausting, sacred journey of it.
To every person who mothers this world
through compassion, sacrifice, patience and love —
we thank you.
We appreciate you.
And we love you deeply. 💐
