MY STORY
Every face you see above has battled. No journey the same. They were each strong enough to walk there path twice. Living the journey and then openly sharing with us all...that is brave.
I am thankful to each and every one of you for sharing your story.
2026 will reveal another face. I am honoured to have this person's story on paper...like all of these stories.

Honoured to be told of the battle they endured and their loved ones.

Thankyou ❤️

It is quite surreal seeing these boards...to be honest it hits home. Lillian wanted to take a picture of me first but I couldn't because I had a tear. She had a smile because she told me "im proud of you - you do a good job mum and I cant wait to go to Get Your Pink On!".

Ive seen these boards from others taking photos around NSW, and on the support Socials of ICA but to see 3 in Melton...it means alot.
WHY?!?
This fundraiser means so much to me and who the funds are raised FOR. Way back when I was struggling and grampling with the decision to proceed with risk-management surgery Inherited Cancers Australia was known as Pink Hope. They werent a huge charity, even back then, but their goal was clear - conversation! The reason for the change of name was so focus of the charity was inclusive. ICA needed to show that cancer does not discriminate and that cancer can be inherited.
Because ICA are a smaller charity, not alot of people know of them, unless they are searching for support. Community fundraisers help grow knowledge, and these boards speak volumes. For these boards to be in MY area pulls heartstrings but it also helps with conversation and it allows me to create conversation with not only sponsors and potential donators - but also the community of Bacchus Marsh and surrounding areas.

Head to Woodgrove and have a photo...dont forget to tag Inherited Cancers Australia and Get Your Pink On

PINK STANDS FOR...
HOPE & STRENGTH

It doesn't matter if your a PINK person...dressing in a little or alot, your showing support!

At the time this event started, my chosen charity was flushed with pink, so thats what I went with.
Our chosen charity was rebranded to Inherited Cancers Australia because "genes" dont choose male or female when it comes to carrying and high-risk cancer gene.

We stand together in support. Support of ALL battling a cancer. Those who have fought and won, those still fighting and in remembering those who have lost.
The importance is not a colour but what it stands for in the eyes of everyone.

Bring your pink...

Wanted to remember this one!!!

Lillian cant wait to attend GYPO haha...
She sees the kind of person I am...frantic, crazy, slightly controlling, probably overbearing...BUT in amongst THAT she sees me - giving a dam. Along with this person wearing a Cape (me) she wrote a little story...in her message...

"Rochelle is a nice person who loves fundraising for Women's Health care. She has a strange but nice family history" 🥹🩷🥹

Oh bub, I love you heaps ### mum 🩷

Why have I shared this!

For some reason I see myself so much in the words Emilia Clarke speaks in this reel! Those who know me know I like to talk...alot!
Most of the time I overshare, but there is alot I hide.

For me, this year has been a doozy and we are only in June. I attempted to put together two fundraisers this year, and though I am capable of achieving this - 2026 was not the year. So much has happened and it's taken a long time to process.

I don't want to write it all here because I revisit my posts and, well...I dont want to read it, again.

Where am I going with this?
We, as people, deal with so many life challenges. These challenges are sometimes easier to push aside and you think...'Ill deal with it later'...but never do. Women’s Health is a huge focus for me, we are the backbone.

WORDS TO REMEMBER:

UNDERSTAND | RESPECT | GROW | BELIEVE | LOVE

These words, aren't just words...they are all about YOU!

These days Im trying to focus on the now, where my feet land today.

Yesterday Bellbrook Gardens Country Club in Bacchus Marsh hosted The Biggest Morning Tea.

I was asked and honoured to speak by Lynette who through unfortunate circumstances was not able to attend. Her crew of merry women and men did her proud. Special mention to Jenny, Sharryn and Bev. So much work went into her preparing this morning and it looked beautiful. The expected attendees, I was told, would be 50-55...140 people attended and that is almost half of the residents living at this beautiful community. The beauty of this community was seeing the support they give each other.

I spoke about the importance of Knowing Your Family Health History. I also spoke of how important it is to be your own advocate. Pushing for the answers you need in the health world is the key to living a healthy and prosperous life.
After the speeches I was approached by many who now, only after battling cancer have made the link that they carry a genetic mutation.

The silver lining is that there is talk. Talking openly about your family. Some may want to know, which is amazing and some may not, which is OK too. Pointing out that it is everyone's right is so important but as long as there is communication, that is key, because...Knowledge Is Power!

✨ Important Announcement – Get Your Sparkle On ✨

It is with a very heavy heart that I share the news that Get Your Sparkle On has been cancelled.

This decision was not made lightly. This event is incredibly close to my heart, and it meant so much to me to create something that helped shine a light on women’s self-health advocacy, empowerment, and awareness. Getting these important conversations into our community has always been my why.
Due to recent health developments, I now need to focus on my family and my own wellbeing. As difficult as this decision has been, it is the right one for me at this time.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported, encouraged, followed, and believed in this event. Your kindness and understanding mean more than I can put into words.

I would like to openly thank the sponsors who believed in the event:

Community Bank Bacchus Marsh
BFT Bacchus Marsh

Bacchus Marsh Pilates
First National Rayner Real Estate - Bacchus Marsh and Ballan
Back In Motion Bacchus Marsh
Austage Events
Bacchus Marsh Golf Clubhouse

The speakers who were attending:

Luan Lawrenson-Woods

This is not the end of the journey for Get Your Sparkle On...Women’s Health Matters - it truly does!
I truly hope to bring it back when the moment is right.

To those who continue reading, remember YOU are very important...YOU know what is right for YOU...folliw the line until you get the answers YOU need.

With gratitude,
R 💕

*GET YOUR PINK ON will be back in October, but for the moment I will take leave from posting and sharing on the (Insta) & (FB) pages.

This above "note" is a bit melodramatic, but right NOW that is how Im feeling. I have quite a bit of s*** going on and honestly I want to press rewind because 6 months ago life felt alot...slower!!

I dont know if I have something or one thing to blame right now but the way I feel right now, the emotions the over-whelming urge to scream, the panic, the fact that I cant think about what is going on tomorrow its consuming and im constantly...tired 🙄

This is not a post that is to bring everyone reading it down - and to some it will be slightly cryptic...all in all Im probably fine, well that's the way im TRYING to look at it

taken from

Ive decided to share the above exhert from a story shared on Menopause Mandate which outlines what I have heard more than once from friends, family members, co-workers. The fact that Ive heard it MORE than once is the troubling part. The same topic keeps coming up, and this is why I am working towards building an event focussed on Women's Health, Self-Advocacy and learning a little about Peri-Menopause and Menopause and continuing the importance that Knowledge Is Power!!!!

I can't bad-mouth the professionals, because its not all on them. Menopause (peri/meno/post) knowledge is still in its infancy and unless professionals want to open their minds to more knowledge and understanding, im sorry to say - it is UP TO US!!!

We know when something isnt right in our mind, body and whole self. We just have to be strong and understand what it means to self-advocate. Our health, women's health really does matter. Know that. You are important and just because one person tells you an answer, it may not be correct.
If your attending a medical appointment you need to be prepared. Ask your healthcare professional questions. Question the questions and answers given in your appointment. HOW? WHY? WHAT? After you do question, you still may have the feeling that the answer you were seeking, wasn't the right one.

GET YOUR SPARKLE ON will be have 2 guest speakers. Very soon I will be highlighting them and their specific focus.
These ladies have built their knowledge from lived experiences. Furthered their knowledge so they can assist you.

I hope that this event will help you, help in more ways than one. A Ladies Night Out IS helping you just by "getting out". A night to share in laughter and fun, sillies and shenanigans - with your "group"...and what if I can assist and bring knowledge to the room that's an added bonus.
