Join Pip Ryan for a free taster of her offering for Black Gully Festival- The Rhizomatic Chorus.
In this emergent ritual space, dubbed the underworld, we will state-shift through a guided process leading to somatic–vibratory–polyphonics.
Pip will be playing with the metaphor of the subterranean, horizontal stem systems of the rhizome (as explored by Deleuze and Guattari), alongside the buzzing, whole-body hum of the Green Grocer cicada (Cyclochila australasiae). These cicadas descend underground for seven years before emerging transformed.
Together, we’ll explore a body-led practice to widen the psyche and traverse the spaces between, where new possibilities arrive in the unseen gaps.
