Charlie from was delighted with our recycling, thanks to everyone for leaving the venue in a very orderly manner!

Charlie does amazing things for the families in the town camps and their fury four legged friends. Running off a passion for dogs and community spirit, Charlie volunteers many countless hours and resources to her cause and appreciates your recycling as a donation. If you ever want to donate your recycling, she's the one! If you ever want a dog... she's also the one! Check out her socials or get down to the brewery one Sunday for Puppies at the Pub!

To all the bands and talented musicians of this special town, plus DJ Hytek played smoothly throughout the evening keeping our audience grooving between sets, we say a huge THANK YOU. 🥰

You guys... the punters, the audience, the Mparntwe community; you guys are why our event could grow to where it ended up. And to bring home the night - last but not least....

🎵The Holy Dimes
Some true proper Rock n Roll right from Mparntwe. We know this 3 piece band well. For better or for worse, they have been doing whatever the hell they want for many years now. The Dimes they are a changing, but cut them, they still bleed a mix a Can Morrison and Slayer. Out-stooging The Stooges, out-cramping The Cramps and presenting their very own vulgar display of power in the form of The Holy Dimes... but I hear, this time they bring you the blues.

🎵 AMATA BAND
Amata Band is a powerhouse collective of senior and emerging Anangu musicians from Amata in the APY Lands, bringing together members of Ilkari Maru , Musgrave Band, UPK and acclaimed solo artist Luke Inkamala.

Rooted in some of the most influential musical lineages in remote Australia, the supergroup carries forward a legacy that began in the 1980s with Ilkari Maru and UPK—Central Australia’s pioneering Aboriginal bands, known for blending country rock with Pitjantjatjara language and storytelling. AmataBand continues their family's tradition of music while evolving a contemporary desert sound shaped by blues, heavy rock, reggae and country.

Cannot wait for this one!

🎵 Katanga Junior - a very active member of the Mparntwe community Katanga Junior now calls this place home. Born & raised in Tanzania, Katanga Junior is an exciting, charismatic artist who has captivated audiences across the Territory since arriving 5 years ago. Seamlessly integrating himself into the local music scene, Junior has developed a dedicated fan base thanks to his distinctively deep voice, smooth flow & multilingual lyrics. Incorporating hip-hop, reggae, afrobeat & indie-folk sounds, Katanga cannot be pigeonholed as a creative & audiences love him all the more for it. He'll be the last band for Ghost Gums 2926 and forever. It breaks our heart but we cannot wait to close the night and close the event with the joy and the energy Katanga and his band have to offer. Yeeeeow!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥

UP NEXT!!

🎵 Balaclava Peace Collective play conscious desert soundscapes rooted in the classic genres of blues, rock, reggae and folk.

With a fusion of styles, BPC, write and play original songs imbedded in a First Nations experience of life touching on themes such as love of Country, culture and humanity, politics, and spiritual prosperity.

Formed in late 2025, BPC are a collective of local men with a shared love of music and collaboration. Hailing from Mparntwe in the Central desert, the Balaclava Peace Collective are fresh, soulful and have something poignant to say.

Bring it on!! ⚡️

🎵 Wilful Mischief play songs about whiskey and dead people. A Central Desert collaboration with a cheeky Irish twist, the tunes of LJ Devlin expressed by a menagerie of Mparntwe-based musicians in a time that calls for giggles and jigs in the midst of global gloom. Music for dancing!

These guys will keep us nice a warm! 🔥

🎵 Casii Williams a Western Aranda woman from N'taria. A third generation musician, being the first woman in her family that has pursued a solo music career. She experimented with jazz, blues and soul and rock and roll – and loved them all but it has been dance electronic music that helped her find her own voice. She also spent '24 and '25 performing in Big Name, No Blankets the rock 'n' roll theatre production celebrating the history of Warumpi Band. Last time this powerhouse performed at Ghost Gums we all got goose bumps! 🎤🪽

Do not miss out!!

⭐️More Bands⭐️

🎵 Travelling from Larakia country we bring you, folk and alt-country singer songwriter, Crystal Robins. Crystal has been in town workshopping with the Desert Divas but will also be performing her own music accompanied by a full band made up of Mparntwe musicians. We love a good colab! Glad to have you down here with us Crystal!

🎵 Malarkey last played in 2022. It was the first year we moved the sage from the back veranda to the big, open stage. As the sun set, Malarkey played their swampy blues folk and it was at that moment we knew we'd made the right decision. It was that warm and fuzzy feeling moment. Thanks guys and look forward to having you back.

🎵 Kirra Voller has played a very pivotal role for Ghost Gums throughout the years both on and off stage. This musician, this creative woman, this powerhouse mother, now comes with a full band, backing singers and special guests of varying ages. Thanks Kira for all your advice, support and hard work... oh yeah, and your performances! First time you played with us it was just you and Anders on the veranda. Now it's you and Anders and a whole lot more!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Mother's Tongue had their debut performance at cosy Little Bands this weekend. The Little Bands event was such a nice way to spend a wet Saturday evening listening to many passionate and emerging artists. It's how it all begins and how stars are born! ⭐️ Great work to the team of Little Bands and lovely warm up performance for Mothers Tongue! A women's singing group led by local musician Steph Harrison, Mothers Tongue explores old songs, rhythms, melodies and stories passed down through many cultures. Their singing draws from Welsh, Baltic and Eastern European Folk traditions, alongside original compositions. Come early not to miss the lovely harmonies from these strong women.

Ghost Gums has supported many emerging artists over the years and speaking of strong women, we always have a place for The Divas! Desert Divas have been workshopping this week with singer songwriter Crystal Robins and together will be bringing you a collective of female First Nations emerging musicians singing their original tracks!

Our event is brought to you in collaboration with 8CCC who is forever busy around town supporting our live music scene. And again, to make sure our sound is big and reach across the whole audience, we join forces with Claspsticks Productions. Big thanks to everyone!!!

🎶Stephanie Harrison is a long-time Alice Springs local and proud mother of three. Known for penning the NT Anthem, performing with iconic desert rock band Bat Hazzard, and a founding member of Brisbane all-girl cabaret Stop It I Love it!, Steph’s musical roots run deep - tracing back to the days of the Radetzky March, which family legend has it was gifted to Strauss by her great great great grandfather.

Blending jazz and classical influences with a splash of blues, Steph’s current project, The Gap Band, was born from creative journeys across Mparntwe and features Angela Cavuoto and Damien Williams on backing vocals, Michael Smith on trumpet, and Steph’s mum, Pia Harrison, on the bass ukulele.

🎤 We are a young up and coming band out of Utju, west of Alice Springs. We plan to make you stop, listen and dance to our incredible sounds. Having grown up together nestled in the beautiful mountains of Utju, us fellas have been heavily influenced by the sounds of our music hero’s, the desert, our language and culture. We sing bilingually in both Pitjantjatjara and English about our families, culture and our land. We make music look easy, bringing together 8 talented young musicians to create a sound that demands the audience to listen and dance. In 2022 we officially formed the James Range Band, our first big gig was playing at the Ghost Gums 2023, more recently we have supported Paul Kelly and the Floodlights, along with playing at the 2024 Wide Open spaces festival and winning a NT Music Award for Best Rock Song and being nominated for a NIMA. 2025 has started with our first interstate tour playing at Meadow festival and supporting Pond.
