An iconic, dry river regatta in the heart of Australia. It’s a boat race - without water! There are a variety of events, with something for everyone.

After a two-year hiatus, the infamous Henley on Todd Regatta is back to celebrate the 60th Anniversary! The Regatta is a tongue-in-cheek, eclectic ‘boat’ race held each year on the dry, sandy bed of the Todd River in Alice Springs, Australia. It’s the only dry river boating Regatta in the world where attendees compete in Flinstone-style races holding makeshift boat frames. Participants are encoura

ge to make their own boats and join in the grand parade festivities or watch the hilarity from the shades of the gum trees while helping raise funds for charity. This event is proudly delivered by Rotary Alice Springs with support from the Northern Territory Government, Alice Springs Town Council, Tourism Central Australia & Imparja Television.

🚤🌵 Henley on Todd hit the Finke Desert Race markets tonight! 🌵🚤

We had a great night out spreading the word and getting geared up for this year’s Henley on Todd Regatta aka the world’s only dry river boat race! 🏁😂

Now we need legends like you to help make it happen.

We’re calling for:

👀 Spectators — come cheer, laugh, yell and soak up the chaos
🏃‍♀️ Competitors — grab your crew and get ready to race
🙋‍♂️ Volunteers — help us bring the magic, madness and mayhem to life

Whether you’re keen to race, lend a hand, or just come along for one of Alice Springs’ most iconic events, we want you there on the 15th August!

Commodore Hooke confirms: Henley on Todd training cancelled after the Todd River forgot the rules and filled up with water 💦
