Over the past six years, Border Battle has grown from an idea into something our community could genuinely be proud of.
What started as a concept became a successful event that brought hundreds of cars and thousands of people together. It gave local businesses a platform to showcase what they do. It created opportunities, conversations and connections. It sparked collaborations and friendships that will last a lifetime. And it proved that something different could be built here on the border.
It was bold. It was new. And it worked.
None of it happened alone. To my friends who volunteered their time, bumped in and bumped out, marshalled cars, handled chaos and backed me when things got hectic, thank you. You were the engine behind the scenes and I’ll never take that for granted.
To my wife, thank you for meeting every idea with a yes, even when it probably sounded crazy or didn’t fully make sense yet. Your belief and support behind the scenes made this possible in ways most people will never see.
With a new chapter of life only weeks away for our family, I’ve made the decision to press pause on the event for now. Not because it failed. Not because it lost momentum. But because it deserves the time, focus and energy required to do it properly.
This isn’t goodbye. It’s see you later.
To every sponsor, past and present, thank you. Your belief, backing and support helped turn an idea into a recognised and respected event. I’m incredibly grateful.
To everyone who entered, attended, volunteered, shared posts, or simply showed up year after year, thank you for being part of it.
Border Battle isn’t being thrown away. It’s being shelved until the timing is right to bring it back the way it should be.
When it returns, it will return strong.
