Dear Members of Alliance Francaise Albury Wodonga,

The committee of AFAW met last night and discussed its response to the coronavirus (covid-19) and specifically discussed actions that should be taken in response to the situation.

To that end we have decided to cancel all classes effectively immediately as well as Café Bavard.

At this stage it is also highly unlikely that the French Film Festival will proceed. We will contact you shortly when we have more information.

Classes that were to be held today (Wednesday 18 March) are cancelled, as too are all classes for next week (the last week of term)
Term 2 classes are also cancelled. Once we know the how this horrible situation is resolving we'll be better able to decide on the rest of the year.

In terms of refunds, we will make contact in the next few days to sort out the process. Given that we already own some students refunds for text books we will try to streamline the process to make it easier for both you and the treasurer.

I'm sure you all appreciate the seriousness of the current situation and understand that these decisions have not been taken lightly but in the interest of everyone's well being.

Please say safe and keep healthy (and sane) in these uncertain times so that we can all return to once again take joy from learning French.

If you have any concerns please contact AFAW on 0407 734 751 or at [email protected]

Kind regards
Clare D’Arcy
AFAW secretary on behalf of the committee of AFAW
