Happy Australia Day 🇦🇺

Today we celebrated Australia Day at the Whitsunday Regional Council Community Nominations.

Congratulations to the incredible volunteers of the Whitsunday Running Club and to our Running Club President for hosting the Anaconda Whitsunday Trail Festival 🌿
It’s a remarkable honour to receive one of four of the Mayor’s Choice Award for this year’s event — a true reflection of the passion, hard work, and community spirit behind it.

The SES play an integral part in the Whitsunday Trail Fest, and their acknowledgement is well deserved. A special mention to Greg Yuskan from SES for his outstanding contribution and continued service to our community.

The volunteers in our community do not go unnoticed — thank you all for everything you do.

Whitsunday Running Club - The club held the 2025 Whitsunday Trail Festival, which saw record numbers in four of its five events, with a total of 245 participants across all formats. Andrea Farley and her team of over 30 volunteers organise the festival year-round, supported by the local Whitsunday SES to keep runners safe.
