🕊️ Welcome to the 15th World Peace Choral Festival 2026
🇲🇰 The Sound of Gevgelija: Gortinija Choir & Maestro Ilija Atanasov
What happens when you mix a small-town heart with world-class ambition? You get Gortinija! Hailing from the sun-drenched town of Gevgelija, North Macedonia, this ensemble is living proof that geography is no barrier to greatness. For nearly 20 years, they have traveled from ancient monasteries to the legendary concert halls of Europe, proving that passion knows no borders.

🎼 The Architect of Harmony
Behind this extraordinary sound is Maestro Ilija Atanasov, a visionary leader in the Balkan choral scene for nearly three decades.

The "Transformative Touch": Trained in Saint Petersburg, Russia, Maestro Atanasov is celebrated for his rare ability to elevate amateur voices to professional excellence, turning local ensembles into prestigious international award-winners.

A Cultural Pioneer: He has revitalized choral art in his homeland, leading national premieres of masterpieces by Stravinsky, Penderecki, and Rutter.

✨ A Repertoire Without Limits
Gortinija brings a unique energy that bridges tradition and the avant-garde. Their versatility is unmatched:

Awards: Grand Prix winners (Serbia) and Silver Medalists at the Anton Bruckner Competition (Austria).

Range: From the spiritual solemnity of 19th-century Orthodox liturgy to high-octane Jazz Mass and Rock choral arrangements.

🌍 Small Town, Big Dreams: Singing for Peace
As they prepare to take the stage in Vienna, Gortinija represents more than just musical excellence; they are Ambassadors of Peace. Coming from a community of fewer than 20,000 people to the world’s musical capital, their journey embodies the spirit of our festival—ensuring that every unique voice is heard.

"When the voices of Gevgelija rise in Vienna, they bring the spirit of Macedonia and leave behind a message of hope. They remind us that while our languages may differ, our hearts beat to the same rhythm."

Our festival is incredibly proud to showcase the leadership of Maestro Atanasov and the soul of the Gortinija Choir. Let’s witness the moment where dreams cross borders and music unites the world!

🌍 Join us at the World Peace Choral Festival—this is our festival, where music becomes the universal language of peace!

Chorale de Monastir Chorale monastir | Tunisia’s Choral Voice at the World Peace Choral Festival🇹🇳🕊️

Founded in 2009, the Chorale de Monastir has become one of Tunisia’s most vibrant choral ensembles. With a mission to discover and nurture exceptional vocal talent while preserving Tunisian and Arab musical heritage, the choir combines traditional influences with a diverse international repertoire.

Over the years, the ensemble has appeared in numerous prestigious concerts and cultural events, enriching Tunisia’s artistic landscape. Among its most remarkable achievements is the incorporation of the historic “Chorale of 1000 Voices”, making it the only choir in Tunisia to have realized this ambitious musical project.

Under the dynamic leadership of conductor Amir Messaoud Amir Msd, the choir has entered a new era of artistic development. A young conductor, operatic baritone, clarinetist, and arranger, Amir represents a new generation of Tunisian musicians committed to expanding the reach of choral music. Educated at the Higher Institute of Music of Sousse, he now leads the ensemble and its orchestra in concerts and productions across the country, including appearances at the El Jem International Festival and collaborations with international artists.

The choir’s development is also supported by Bchira Hizem Dimassi, President of the Monastir Choir Association since 2010. With decades of experience in education and cultural leadership, she has played a crucial role in strengthening the choir’s artistic and institutional foundations, while promoting cultural exchange and youth engagement.

Today, the Chorale de Monastir stands as a powerful symbol of Tunisia’s musical creativity and cultural pride.

🎶 This summer, they will bring their distinctive voice and rich musical heritage to the international stage of the World Peace Choral Festival, joining choirs from around the world in a celebration of harmony, culture, and peace.

🎶 VOICES OF HARMONY – World Peace Choral Festival 2025, Vienna 🌍

In July 2025, over 40 choirs from 20 countries gathered in Vienna, the City of Music, to share their voices, cultures, and dreams of a better world. From Australia to Hong Kong, Poland to Indonesia, hundreds of young singers filled historic venues with joy, friendship, and hope. Every note carried a message of connection — showing that music transcends borders and unites hearts across the globe.

🏛 One Stage. One World. One Purpose.
The Festival was not only about music — it was about making a real difference. UNICEF Austria joined the Festival through its fundraising initiative, where choirs and volunteers offered handmade souvenirs to visitors. Thanks to your generosity, a total of €3,505.52 was raised, supporting clean water, quality education, and healthcare for children in need worldwide.

Every song, every smile, every act of giving reminded us that peace begins with protecting the most vulnerable. Let us pray for a world where all children grow up safe, healthy, and free from harm. 💖
