🎉 Lanke Cup Weiqi Vienna Open GP Bonus C 🎉

🔥 Stanislaw Frejlak 2p looked unstoppable with a flawless 4/4 start... until the final round, when Ben0 7d/1p ended his winning streak. So the tables have turned and Lukas Podpera 7d won the tournament by SOSOS and took home 8 Grand Prix points🏆 (and the third title in GP tournaments this season, wow!)

On 24th May, the Go7 Spring Club tournament takes place!🌷
It is the first of the three seasonal tournaments.
In 2024, the overall seasonal champion was Moritz Hable 2k. Will someone challenge him this year?

This is a 1-day tournament with 4 or 5 rounds, Fischer time 20min+7sec, with handicap -2, EGD rated class C.
For Go7 members, participation is free, and for the other players the fee is 5€.
As usual, the winner and the best U18 player gets a prize!

Grand tournaments on the horizon 🛤

This June the historical University of Vienna will host the Second Vienna Open! 🎓

We are really excited to organize a high-standard Bonus C tournament on 21-22 June, sponsored by Konfuzius-Institut an der Universität Wien and Lanke Quzhou!

Unlike last year when we suffered high temperatures🫠, the tournament will be held in a bigger (and nicer) room, and air conditioner will be available if needed 🥳

📆Hi dear players! The biggest European event is approaching, the GoDan EGC 2025 Warsaw, and we still have a few major tournaments on the way to train, warm-up and even earn seats for the Grand Prix Finale or a world championship.
🤓 Of course, you'll find many more tournaments on the EGF calendar, but here are the main ones ⤵️

👉 Several Bonus point tournaments from the European Grand Prix circuit - you can qualify directly for the Finale (to be played in Sweden on January 3-6 2026) or earn points which will help you qualify.

👉 The European Pair Go Championship, which will take place in Bistrita, Romania, just before the 1st Transylvanian Go Cup.
🔴🏆The European Pair Go Champions will be invited to the World Amateur Pair Go Championship in Osaka, Japan (August 2025).

Thanks to all the players for their fair play and cooperation. The tournament went so smoothly that I almost had nothing to do.

In total we had 32 players, and the results are uploaded to EGD.
The tournament was overbooked for a long time (more than 35 players registered, which was the limit), but unfortunately some players cancelled in the last week - next year we promise a better registration system :)

🌞🌸 As spring finally arrived in Vienna, so did more than 30 players in the Go7 this weekend for Lanke Go7 Cup - 2nd edition!
The tournament was overbooked for a few months, with some players cancelling in the last moment.

However, the top group is very strong and some of the best Austrian players are fighting for the qualification points for the national championship!
