And just like that, another D2 comes to a close. ❤️

A huge thank you to all our guests, friends, speakers and attendees for once again helping recreate that special feeling of community that makes D2 what it is. Even in more challenging times for our industry, it was great to see so many familiar faces, meet new ones, share stories and ideas, and simply enjoy being together in Budapest.

The first-ever D2 Awards turned out wonderfully, and we’re already excited to see where it goes from here. And, of course, we’re looking forward to all the amazing work the future D2 Challenges will bring, keeping this old institution of the community rolling for another year and beyond.

We hope you all had a great time, enjoyed Budapest, and went home with some good memories, new ideas and perhaps a few new friends along the way.

A few days have passed since we revealed the winners at the very first D2 Awards in Budapest, so it’s time to make it official here, too.

The inaugural D2 Awards celebrated outstanding architectural visualization, animation and visual storytelling, with the animation categories presented in partnership with CAD’oro. And with an incredible range of work submitted from artists and studios around the world, there was certainly plenty worth celebrating.

Davide Poggio has been working as a Project Manager and Senior 3D Artist at Brick Visual since 2022. His approach to architectural visualization is driven by a pursuit of simplicity. “Thoughts through images” is the principle that guides his work: a continuous exploration of the idea and of the most essential and effective way to communicate it through images. In his creative process, each image represents the synthesis of a thought, the result of a process of reduction and transformation into a visual language.

We're delighted to welcome architect, architectural theorist, and professor Andor Wesselényi-Garay to the D2 Awards jury, bringing decades of expertise in architectural research, criticism, and education to this year's panel.

Andor Wesselényi-Garay is an architect, architectural theorist, researcher, critic, and university professor. He specializes in the study of contemporary Hungarian and Carpathian Basin architecture, with a particular focus on regionalist movements, and is the author of nearly 400 academic and professional publications. As an educator, editor, curator, and organizer of scholarly activities, his work centers on the interpretation, communication, and public representation of architectural thought.
