Waves Vienna - Music Festival & Conference Waves Festival is the city’s first club- and showcase festival.

In autumn Vienna’s most significant clubs, unique off-locations, and the public space will merge into the site of the Waves Vienna Festival. FESTIVAL
Waves Festival’s motto is „East meets West“; numerous international alternative, electronic, rock, and club acts will be performing around Vienna’s 17th district. Additionally, local artists and sophisticated musicians from Eastern Europe form an ess

ential part of the festival’s programme. Every year Waves Festival will welcome two countries, one from the eastern and one frome the western part of Europe. True to the motto “East Meets West”, there will be a focus on acts from these countries in the live programme. The Waves Music Conference will furthermore devote a part of its programme to the respective music markets and scenes of these countries. CONFERENCE
The Waves Festival Music Conference constitutes a part of the festival and offers the possibility to attend lectures and panels and participate in workshops. The subject-specific programme will deal with the topic „East meets West“, which will serve as the basis and inspiration for many years of pan-European cooperation. FACTS & FIGURES

Waves Festival is organised by Verein Wien macht Kultur and Comrades GmbH. In the various areas Comrades works collaboratively with different companies and institutions. The conference is co-organised with MICA (Music Information Center Austria).

The CEIFA is back for a second round. 🌊

☝️ We're proudly presenting the Central European Independent Festivals Award again — our way of celebrating the spirit of the small, independent festivals that shape music across the region from the ground up. 🙌

Nominations are open to independent music festivals from Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia and Czechia — fewer than 3,000 people, independently run, with an open and diverse vision, taking place in 2025 or 2026.

The winner takes home €1,500 plus €7,000 worth of ad space in The Gap. And the top 5 are invited to the award ceremony in Vienna — hotel night and festival pass on us. 😔

🙌 Nominate your festival, or one you love, until July 10. Public voting runs until August 20, and we'll celebrate the winners on October 3 at Waves Vienna.
